I was considering buying a hardbody pickup and turboing it a while back. While lurking one of the KA forums they had a sticky with limits posted for various stock parts, as well as a basic upgrade path for various power levels. It actually answered all my basic stupid noob questions, which was pretty cool.

Maybe we should think about doing something like that... we could put it in a forum all by itself, maybe name it "Useful Saved Posts", then we could have a thread titled, "DIY FAQ - ALL your answers in one big post". We could capitalize the ALL, as if to emphasize it even more. We could even make it a sticky so it would be basically impossible for people to miss. I really think this could work guys!

That's true though. They used the same v6 in the Taurus SHO. Those things are mad cheap these days so the swap should be simple (they didn't keep their value like the stangs did, and the Ford didn't want you to know but the Taurus was faster. It has the boss vortec heads).

The only problem with the SHO v6 in the miata is you need a custom exhaust manifold so turbo not hit block. How much power do you want? I was making 22psi in my last SHO, it would pull z06's. ******* v8's are so heavy.

The mustangs had the 3.8L super-garbage V6...the SHO's have had a 3.0L or 3.2L (1992-1995), a 3.4L V8 (1996-1999) and now a 3.5L V6. They've never had the same motor

it was the 3.4 that had the boss vortec heads right? (and the 3.0 is from 89-95, 3.2: 93-95 autos only)

I've modified the awd miata drivetrain to allow only the front left and rear right wheel to have power go to it. This allows for maximum traction, if you are going to run 400hps you should def do this mod. It's very easy just acquire awd drivetrain (super cheap since no one wants them) and then remove the front right axle and rear left axle. Good luck with build.
