Default Log Manifold

Hey guys, I have a question.. Maybe a stupid one.. I currently have a tigged steel log style manifold I purchased for $260, felt right, seems to be good quality and was custom made for a friend's build but he is now in crowd control (mustang) instead of a miata, 1.6, '93... I came across some cast iron ones on fleabay for $150 and considered running one (that's where the question I thought would be stupid, because ebay) but the log mani never have him any issues, just wanting advice, run the log mani? Or buy the ebay cast? Thanks in advance.

I don't understand . you have a manifold that works fine, but now you want to know if the ebay one is ok?

No no, just seeing what experiences people have had one vs the other.... Nothing is bolted down yet, and nothing is being thrown away, just asking a question.

I know people say cast is more reliable, but my log one is really very nice.

Id run what you have, it looks nice. That said I run a ebay cast manifold with no problems. If I already had your manifold I wouldn't have bought an ebay one.

That's exactly what I needed to hear, thanks!! I've noticed that the cast ones sell like crazy in the rare time they are available... And the sporadic availability of your manifold is why I went ahead with what I have.

To be honest, I think after 500whp it would be worth going to a fully tubular 4 into 1 manifold. I'm sure I'm leaving some power on the table at this point.

How much power are you making now? I'm only looking to get 225-250whp out of my car, just a fun daily.

I made 492 on virtual dyno @ 38 PSI. Have ran 40 max. I now have a bigger turbo, and am doing a transmission swap so I can get the power where I want it. I think I should be able to make over 500 now.

That log looks nice. Maybe make relief cuts between the runners.

My original intention was to run a 13T Volvo turbo I acquired for free, but then I found this mani which is a T2, and I could adapt it, but I have about $300 worth of ebay gift cards at hand, my IC is coming from ebay, many of y'all have had good luck with em, and I'm gonna order an ebay turbo, maybe 2 (one for a spare) if I can work a deal with someone, just kinda stuck between a T25, or a T28, any reccomendations for my 225-250hp goal?

Stick with a t25 as your log will probably match up with it (Measure it). Skip the ebay turbo and troll around some nissan forums for a used GT2560. You'll get a used name brand turbo vs some china garbage.

I am actively looking for a brand name one if the price is right, I had a local guy try to burn me on a GT2550? Last 2 numbers may be wrong, it's been a minute, but anyway, ******* wanted $550 for it, and it had enough shaft play to let the turbine touch the housing, told me "that's normal for those BRUHH" I guess it's time to remove the "I'm stupid" tattoo from my forehead.
