My serious bad ass MZR engine
2 Attachment(s)
This is a 2.5L MZR engine. It is more like a 2.4 due to the smaller sleeve that were used in the block.
GTX3071 BEGI modified Mazda 6 Manifold BEGI FMIC Engine and Fab work by Millennium Motorsports All tuning done by Road Race Engineering I will have a list of mods and parts at some point. I dont have time to type it out. This is not 100% tuned either. This car needs to be on a trailer to Atlanta by Sunday. |
so youre going to be using it in a NC right? last time i remember u had that sick as setup on the nb.
|
my fukking gawd.
shii like this makes me hate my BP. |
MZR swap? Can't wait to this it in action at Atlanta next week!
|
Post pictures of this thing before I fukcing kill you
|
This is in the NB. I will get pics up when I can.
|
Need more info!!!
|
Wow! that is more power than a lot of fd cars. And I'm missing Atl...
|
Its serious power, I just need to see how it feels on the track. I have a dogbox in there now too. So alot of changes..
|
Sub'd for pics.
|
You are a fukking cuuunt I hatr you
|
Hate must mean I am doing something right LOL.
I will get up more info when I can guys. I am really just trying to get to the track in Atlanta... |
---- yeah e85 is the ----!!!!!
600whp out of a gt30 is holyeee ---- though. |
I almost can't believe 600whp from a GTX3071R. That is way off to the side of the compressor map for that turbo. What hotside are you using?

The housing is a .63 Tial SS housing.
This is only with 1200 injectors. The Garrett Engineer feels this is pretty on with the head work and cams that are in it. This actually has alot more potential, even with the .63 |
:eek3:
I must know more! |
What care is this in?
|
Dayum, that is nuts. Subbed for possibly the sickest setup I have seen.
|
This is either bs or an insanely sick setup. I really hope its not bs, but have yet to see 600 out of a 30r (yeah I know its an x) on a inline mazduh motor. This is like s2000 topend with subaru torque. Almost too good to be true.
|
how much boost is this? i smell all of it
your motor must be godly for this to happen pics please my boner needs pics i am going to mount you |
Vvt?
|
I want to know what god damn ECU you're running????

+1.
This is becoming a trend. It should be a ban-able offense |
+1 for bannable offense.
|
Your turbine housing is MASSIVE
|
C'mon man, pics :(
|
And the drifter takes the upper hand....
That thing is making some serious numbers. Impressive! |
Pictures of the engine and transmission setup?
|
I agree on bannable offense. Posting threads without photos or more details is not cool.
|
|
Will you switch to the NC next season?
Dude is busy trying to find a ride across country! |
Bannable, come on turbros.
I know I drift, but I have been a straight shooter here. This is a 4 Cyl. MZR engine out of a 2010 mazda 6. It was sleeved so now it sits at about 2.4L. The static compression is about 10.2:1 JE psitons gas ported Manley rods Modified crank Web cams Deleted VVT Super Tech everything in the head Head cleaned up and smoothed out in ports ect.. Copper head gasket ARP everything Tranny is a Jericho 4 speed dog box custom drive shaft DSS axles and hub. Highest stage available custom 4.88 Rx8 to TII R&P in TII housing I run an AEM EMS V2. It took a lot of love from RRE and AEM to get this thing to work out smoothly. This is at the choke point for this turbo. It doesnt mean it can happen. It is just less efficient. I am OK with that for better response. Also, this was a pain in the ass to get to this point with this set up. |

That gives me dirty ideas of what to do with the 2.5L in my girlfriend's 3.
|
This thread needs a new, more accurate title that will reflect its actual content.
|
So can wait to see this thing in person in Atlanta this weekend!
|
well this thread got a whole lot better.
now all we need is 1000000000 pics |
sokool, it is on its way now, I think LOL
Anyway, I have zero pics of the engine in the car. I will have some by Thursday, or maybe Millennium has some.I know he does. Pics wont do it justice though. Just looks like an engine in the car. |

Dont let this look easy cus i know it wadnt I cant wait to make it a 2.7 or 2.8 :) But tuning it, getting a timing set up to work, oil pan is gnarly, custom ACT clutch set up. I now have my own part number LOL Adapting tranny, braces, just a big project. |
I am curious what the oil pan looks like. Last I checked the MZR was too tall. I bet that was a pain in the ass.
|
This is a swap I always wanted to do. People thought I was crazy for suggesting it.
|
Curious to see how he dealt with the intake and exhaust being flipped. If it required any tunnel mods to get a decent exhaust to fit.
|
Turns.
You are a god as far as i am concerned. But plz Explain why this and not built LS platform? |
Built LS1's are a dime a dozen compared to the MZR swap.
|
something about the front subframe mods required for an LS1 didn't fit within Formula D's ruleset when this swap was planned is my best guess.

Yah and also for many dimes OP could have 1000hp as opposed to 600. That said yes I do not have 600 proven hp so I am just hypothetical internetwbebiings. |
As far as I know Danny George has an LS and competes in Formula D... I think Jeff is just for of a purest as compared to the "let's just throw a v8 into it" mentality the sport has grown to be these days. It's sickening really.

|
I know ---- all about drifting rules, but for SSM you can put any motor made by the same manufacturer as the car, so V8's are out (not that the OP cares about SSM rules)

Not what I was saying. I'm refering the the sport of drifting and it roots in Japan. I could care less if if not a stock miata. This ain't miata.net! Go look at any car in D1GP and tell me they have LS swaps. |

:jerkit: What's really sickening, is that you consider Formula D "sport" |
TURNS 101, I'm glad to see my money went to a good cause.
|
Everyone has their opinion. I enjoy watching drivers who drive a car that is essentialy out of control. I also help to run local events and have crewed for a few teams. Why? Because I like cars, and enjoy being around them and working on them. I myself enjoy driving cars how they were intended. I am an avad autoxer and am currently rebiulding my miata to be more reliable for the step up to real track events.
I'm excited for Jeff and can't wait to see it in person. Having owned two cars with MZR motors, and worked on countless others, I know their potential and love to see that someone finaly stuffed one into an NB. |
