So I'm rebuilding my 99 motor i picked up. I had a valve job done and took the bottom to the machine shop to have it cleaned. Everything was in excellent shape and didn't need any work just cleaning. I'm replacing the bearings and rings. traditionally i know you change the oil pump too. Should I just stick with a stock pump? The machine shop i'm using says most of their customers use rock parts and he quoted me rock rings, bearings, oil pump, gaskets.
Any opinions on rock parts? Do i need some kind of performance oil pump? I've read about the be pumps but prior to them existing fm and many others had been using stock for a long time. I searched but didn't really find anything... maybe i didn't go back far enough.

I have used boxes of Rock parts, For the most part they are fine, IF this is a stock build, or a very mild build up you will be just fine with them.

My MAX power goal is somewhere around 200-250 hp. I have MS, 460CC inj, 2560, Begi Log mani w/ seperated gas dp 3". Whatever I can squeeze out of these components on a modest tune.
This is my first project car and my first engine rebuild. I'm not really getting any help outside this forum and although taking everything apart was easy. Putting it back together is a little more intimidating. I don't want to skimp and end up with failures but i'd like to re-use or buy the compnents appropriate for my power goals.
Is a Rock or OEM pump sufficient for these power goals? I've read quite a bit about ARP bolts as well and king bearings are these things I should invest in or will rock parts satisfy my needs? Or my existing stock bolts and such be fine?
So far I haven't purchased anything and am using all stock parts internally on the motor.
