Oil Pump Relief Valve Stuck NA6
Oil pump relief valve stuck on my 1.6L w/ 90k miles during autocross a few weeks ago. I've pulled the engine and inspected the oil pump (pictures below). It's showing some pretty decent grooving making me think something steel or iron passed through it (found a handful of sand size magnetic/ferrous particles in the bottom of the oil pan). I'm planning to do some main cap, conn. rod cap, and cam cap inspection this weekend. Looking for some advice on other areas to investigate and/or next steps? Forgive my noobness, I've done a bit of googling but trying to decide if the engine is toast and make sure I'm checking the right areas. I appreciate the help!

It will be very difficult to get the oil passages within the crank and Block & head completely cleaned of debris to prevent it from happening again. I wouldn't bother to rebuild a 1.6 when 1.8's are plentiful. Any reason not to build a forged 1.8 to go back in it?
