future build
Ok as of now im running a 1.6 turbod at 12 psi with a 14b, megasquirt pnp full exhaust/frontmount 460's ect. basically a nice somewhat reliable set-up. All of this is on a somewhat high mile 1.6 so this winter im looking at rebuilding it with decent rods/pistons, studs and maybe some headwork and a evo 16g and moving up around 15psi. Just wondering what everyone recommends. Iv read some build threads and everyone seems to have different set-ups. im not lookng for crazy horsepower just a strong bottom end with a slightly built head.
So;
pistons?
rods?
studs?
bearings/seals?
cams?
springs and retainers?

Dont worry man, im still a believer in our 1.6's
If your looking for a tough forged build you could go this way:
Flyin miata's 9.1 wiseco pistons
M-tuned rods
ARP hardware, head studs, main studs.
Boundary engineering billet gears or fully built oil pumps
A company called Calico makes teflon coated bearings which are great but a little pricey, I got them for my rods to help a little incase oil starvation happens but stuck with ACL bearings for my mains.
As for seals, i would only go OEM for the rear main and the rest can be generics from you local auto parts store or ebay.
HKS cams in 256 at most if you want your idle to be normal
About head work, i got lucky and picked up a worked over (ported) head. stock valves and all, freshly resurfaced and all by a Rebello racing.
I would try some DIY porting and get your typical 3 angle valve job and clean and resurface the head and call it a day.
