I have seen others on here talk about miata engine vibration,NVH,as I believe it is termed and just how bad it is. I also know of these engine dampers which we use and how these help to remove NVH.As I now have my car turbocharged and I am aquainted with this annoying problem as well , and I know there are some smart engineers on here. From a design standpoint how do you remove NVH? And if you were going to swap an engine in how do you determine which one produces the least nvh with smooth power? The miata engine does not seem good at this Thanks Landon

Honestly, I thought that the NVH on stock engine mounts and diff mounts is perfectly fine...
Please see the first post of my build thread, I used a dynamat type material.

To by completely honest though, you should/should have searched for this, as there is extensive info on insulating the cabin.
If I were to do it again, I'd do it this way: https://www.miataturbo.net/general-m...2/#post1211667
And here's a handful of the most useful threads I have saved. Read through the entire threads so that you understand the theory behind reducing/absorbing NVH.

And again. Next time, search.

Thanks ,I promise ,I did search, maybe the term I am using is wrong,IT just seems like we fight against scews coming loose, rattles that were not there the lap before...And I Have the APPROVED muffler type.. Not so much noise, but vibration. thats why I asked about aftermarket damper.or crankshaft balancing maybe? I have the factory damper but I see a big differance
between this and my mazdaspeed 3. Again thanks,

What Aidan said, really. These engines do vibrate quite a lot. Balancing the full rotating assembly will help a lot. Beyond that, put something in that vibrates less, like a Honda engine or LFX.

The threads you linked to have little to do with the question he is asking.

I guess that's what happens when you reply late at night.
Thanks for the downvotes guys.
