Poll: Should I dyno with lots of blowby?

What it do?

ianferrell 02-08-2012 04:52 PM

yes of course.

not for tune, but for glory.

Faeflora 02-08-2012 04:55 PM

Compression currently tests out at

138/145/150/150

I have a lot of oil coming out my valve cover breather over 20psi.

Do it now just so you have some rough estimate of power numbers. Then pull the car apart. Its not like you have to worry about ------- more ---- up since you are pulling it apart afterwards anyways. I say dyno till you hit 40psi and see if anything else breaks. Then you know you need to fix those too when you rebuild.

Needs more "No Doubt". Every time I type that word, the song plays in my head.

Dyno on 20psi. Report back with dyno sheet. The end.

THANK YOU!!!

Omg wtf kinda pu$$y sh*t is 20psi?
Here's what you do:

Dyno no matter what, run literally ALL OF IT, and go out in a blaze of glory while recording in high def of course.

chpmnsws6 02-08-2012 07:27 PM

Start at 20psi
Then 30psi
Finish the big bang theory with 40psi

Will your valvesprings hold the extra pressure or are we going to see some float on the dyno graph?

Yes valvesprings are made from pure iron.

Time to put your old license plate back on...

gearhead_318 02-08-2012 08:08 PM

Fix issues and then dyno, you've worked too hard to do something stupid and kill it.

If I had an NB I'd be telling you to go for it so it would die and I'd call dibs on some of your trash.

I'll come to make a video of it, and in worst case, I have AAA Plus for free towing :)

Don't we build them to test them? No?

18psi 02-08-2012 09:14 PM

he's gong to be ripping the motor apart anyway.
so why be a pus$y now and hold back?

is "ALL OF IT" worth a couple hundred bucks?
you tell us

Did not know that. In case run all the boost and set records.

thirdgen 02-08-2012 09:18 PM

F*ck it. Go big or don't go at all. Run 40 psi, and like others said, video that shiz. I fully agree with the "go out in a blaze of glory".

FRT_Fun 02-09-2012 09:29 PM

Basically whatever you do, if there isn't a video, you are a piece of ----.
