Here is how the conversation would go down at the track when someone sees the Bottle in your trunk:
"Hey you spraying on that thing?"
"No, no nitrous. There is CO2 in that bottle."
"..."
"The CO2 cools the fuel, so that as it is injected it cools the intake charge as it enters the combustion camber, thus improving volumetric efficiency."
"... and you think that the gains offset the 30 pounds of **** you added to the car?"
"yes..."

also, based on this new found technology, I will now begin selling fuel rails that are precision machined out of ice. The price will be a reasonable $39.99. Ill will be accepting orders immediately.

Well then be sure you have a cold air box routing air from outside the car and you won't have a problem. Or are you saying spraying the CO2 into the intercooler. I was referring to spraying it ON the intercooler. I assume you know that though. Plus when you spray the CO2 on an intercooler, you do it pre run to chill the core. So the left over CO2 would be blown away by the time you made a pass.

Not really on a drag car. Think of how much your intake temps drop by spraying down the intercooler till it pretty much frosts over. Might not see huge gains, but cars that are already in the 1000hp+ range would probably see 50hp from having intake temps 20-30 degrees cooler. Cheaper solution than a retarded setup like this though, would be just a CO2 tank and nozzle and spray down the intercooler from outside the car before the driver makes a run. But yeah, I do agree this system is pretty retarded in 99% of cases.

Id say retarded on all Miata's. Really the thread is about the fuel cooler anyway, which is 100% retarded on all cars, in my understanding anyway. Doesn't fuel atomize better at higher than ambient temps? I understand cooler intake temps is more timing and more power, but fuel isn't the place to reduce temps.
