R35 coil-on-plug stalk lengths
Getting these R35 coils fitted to my VVT engine i cut a basic-bitch plate before my 3d printed mockup is complete. The only thing i need to figure out from here is getting the correct coil stalk lengths. Someone here on MT.net had a PDF from a supplier that i stupidly didn't save. Just need to find out what other coil stalks fit the VR38 coils so i can get the right length. Anyone?

I believe techsalvager used NC miata plug stalks on his R35 coils on a VVT valve cover. The separate parts of the plug boots should be interchangeable. I think he said he didn't even need a hold down plate since they were so snug
I'm using 2001 pathfinder spark plug stalks on mine, but I'm also not VVT and am using a 1/4 hold down plate |
Thanks! I ordered some NC plug stalks along with the pathfinders (2 different lengths) to see if they fit ok with my .25" plate.

Considering that you can get all 4 of the pathfinder plug boots AND the NC boots for about 30 bucks before shipping on rockauto, that custom boot one looks pretty pricey to me
That machined plate looks amazing by the way |
MuchoBoosto, how did you go with all this? Did you find the ideal stalk lengths? Can you post some pics of your machined plate.
Also what plug gap are you running at what boost? Looking at running R35 Cops since my ECU won't play nice with the R8 offerings. |
