Default Reroute VVT head gasket. Tell me the truth, so I can ignore it

Hey,

I'm building a 05 VVT engine with a reroute, I know I should use an NA headgasket(HG), I got an offer for 94 HG.

My question is: Are the 94 and 97 are different ?

Thanks !
Elior

Im pretty sure you're supposed to use an NB1 head gasket...

I am fairly sure 94-00 is the same head gasket.

By US standards 90-93 would be a 1.6L headgasket. So it will not work. You want a head gasket from 94-00. They are all the same.

Just buy the one that everyone tells you not to buy.

The HG I got is from victor reinz, the catalog say the PN is good for:

1.8 BP (DOHC)
BP22
BP31

years 89-94

To make thing even more confusing they have another PN in the catalog for:
1.8 BPF1
BP-ZE

years 93-98

I'm a little lost.

Can you please change the thread title back ?

Thanks
Elior.

C'mon guys. He knew he bought the wrong part before he started the thread. He wants to clarify what he does need.

Elior, where are you located? Put it in your Profile show it will show at left of posts.

Then, look up Mazda P/N for any 1.8 from '94-'00, and use that.

Protip: Not under "Country of Origin" , but put "Israel" under "Location".

AND, don't sweat things like title changes. Just laugh and go on.

Good luck with your engine build.
