I dont even know what the OP wants from us...

concealer404 08-29-2013 11:48 AM

He wants us to tell him that he's special and that his dreams are very important and he should do anything he wants without stopping to think if they're good dreams or not.

And on his way out, he'll take a participation award, please and thank you.

Braineack 08-29-2013 11:51 AM

I'll send his mom a note thanking her for allowing him to stay in her basement and signing him up for obamacare.

for your information you arrogant prick I dont live in my mothers basement and I dont live in the same country as you I live in Canada where we dont have to sign up to get bandages when you scrape yourself removing a bolt on your sack of shit thing you call a car, like you, I also dont have to pay out of my ass to get any injuries taken care of no matter what they are.

Thank you to those who have backed me up on the idea and added helpful insights on what i should do and what another alternative could be instead of trashing me for wanting to do an uncommon swap for the area in which i live in

thenuge26 08-29-2013 10:57 PM

Have you thought that it might be uncommon for a reason?

Also inb4 Brain's 1.fail outperforms your SR20.

You spelled "retarded" wrong.

Also why is it that every Canadian results to a healthcare debate no matter how off topic it is when they get mad? It's like it's the only thing you have to be patriotic about. Congrats on your shitty taxes, I'm glad you don't have to pay for your band-aids.

look i didn't refer to it some idiot above referenced "Obamacare" so i had to clarify that i am not an American, i have nothing against the country i have alot of friends there.

look im fed up of this bullshit im not going to do the SR swap ill go and put a little T25 on my 1.6 and once it blows from boosting too much im going to put another one in and repeat the process hows that sound then ill look at the difference in price

This thread continues to deliver. I love how these noobs always like to tell us how dumb we are. It's funny how dumb it makes the OP look. And to the few members that think we are being harsh, there is a time and a place for answering a question in a serious manner, threads like this are not the place. This questions has been asked before, and the answers given were sufficient. This thread should not have even taken place. So at least we can get a few laughs at the OP's expense. If they get butt hurt about it that is their problem.

If I got butthurt like this everytime someone made fun of the time and money I spend on a 1.6 the world would be a sad place for me. If OP wants to swap in an SR then he should be dedicated enough to do it without getting approval from an online forum.

Those with the skills and ability to do these sorts of things don't need to ask such basic and obvious questions.

It's like you prefer the worst scenarios you can think of.

wtf is this eggplant shit?

concealer404 08-29-2013 11:26 PM

I created the eggplant, I don't need to perpetuate it further, it's taken a life of its own.

You have the learning ability of an eggplant. We spoonfeed you answers and it just bounces right off.

concealer404 08-29-2013 11:29 PM

Just search "eggplant" on these forums. You'll get a couple recipes, and probably a whole lot of moronic posts about sr20 swaps.

greddygalant 08-30-2013 12:06 AM

Well while this all funny ill chime in with my personal experience. A local older gentleman let me drive his sr20'swapped miata at an auto cross. It was stock internally with bolt ons with an s15 t28 and s15 6spd and I believe on an aem ecu. Guy claimed it put down 250+ on conservative boost. Car was fast in a straight line and was pretty responsive in terms of spool and hasty on/off throttle situations. That being said he paid a lot of money to have the swap done "right" by a local shop and while everything worked well and felt solid it just seemed like a lot of money for what you gain. To be fair one of the advantages I saw was the fact that an sr20det is designed for boost from the factory and thus there are torture tested OEM components that you don't have to worry about breaking or stretching or vibrating off or making relief cuts in. While I personally don't own a turbo miata I have a good friend who does and I've seen the great lengths he has to go through to make sure that everything is holding together reliably. At the same time if you're going to upgrade the motor I'd replace it with something either a bit more modern or significantly more powerful. Jut my .02

FRT_Fun 08-30-2013 12:17 AM

In all honestly how difficult is it to get a quality turbo manifold with inconel studs and some locking hardware for a miata engine? The answer is not difficult. For a street car you don't even need that for decent reliability. 250 is doable on a stock miata engine with proper tuning. There is really zero point to an sr20 swap unless you want to do it for science.

Full_Tilt_Boogie 08-30-2013 12:20 AM

i herd teh sr20 can make liek 600hp on stock block.. the rods r short an thick to handlle lots of boost plus lke u can rev them to 9k rpm with jus valve spring..!
