Default turbo miata overheating

So my 1.6 turbo miata has been having overheating issues basically since installed my turbocharger over a year ago. I just put in a new head gasket this weekend because i blew my old one. The runs great and gets up to temperature as regular but after around 30 mins of regular driving not romping the car or anything the temps start to spike. I have an aftermarket aluminum radiator and fans. I also have fresh coolant in it I'm running a 50/50 mix. Maybe I just need to get the coolant reroute kit but I don't think that without the reroute the car should be overheating as bad as it is. I noticed that the heater core hose is about an inch away from my downpipes so maybe thats too close and I need to heat wrap it. Ive been trying to deal with this overheating problem for a while so If anyone has had similar problems to me than let me know if you found a fix. Thanks!!

Do you have a stock undertray installed?

I don't because it doesn't fit. But even running with no front bumper the car overheats. Maybe ill just cut up the stock one or make one out of sheet metal. But would that really make the car overheat even without a front bumper?

Yes. The front opening is plenty big as is. Put the under tray back in and fully seal the radiator and intercooler. I just used aluminum tape

Also your coolant mix is good down to like -40 degrees. But keep the bumper, air guide, and undertray in place.

Go here and read all:

If you're not running an undertray, you've got a LOT of learning to do.

thanks for the suggestion. my only problem is that the stock under tray doesn't fit with my intercooler piping. Should I cut it up or just make a simple one out of sheet metal?

Put the under tray back in (cut to fit) and fully seal the radiator and intercooler. I just used aluminum tape

My favorite ducting/shielding material. Free around election time. After it wears out in 5 years, you can just steal more election signs. It also works to build RC planes out of.
