Default Weird 1.6 intake manifold

Hey was wondering if maybe anybody knew what I have here. I recently acquired a 1.6 intake that takes a 1.8 throttle body. Was told it’s some European maybe Australian intake. It looks completely different than a stock 1.6 intake. The 1.8 throttle
body fits on it perfect with no modifications. Anybody know what this is haha im
gonna use it on my new turbo
buid.

Looks like the NB6 intake manifold, based on the pics that Sonny just posted over in their thread.

Yep, it'll be an NB6.

Either from a European or Japanese car.

USA and Aust never got the NB 1.6 (other than the odd personal import here and there, but no factory mass release)

Only differences I know of (compared to an NA6) are that it's got solid lifters, and fits most of the NB8 sensors etc.

Yup, same as my JDM NB6; the small vacuum port right after the TB is missing, and I believe, as Emilio pointed out recently, the angle of the intake runners is different. (I can't compare this, as I only have the JDM one to look at).

I hope so, but can't say with any back up info. I believe the JDM NB6 was rated at 110HP, a few higher than NA6, so manifold may contribute a little.

Main benefit of these; they will allow you to run a NB throttle body, complete with VTPS and IACV. As already said NB 1.6 engines are quite similar to NA ones, but with solid lifters, bumped CR to 10:1 and 1.8 sensors/ancillaries.

Read the thread linked below. Looks SuperMiata is doing some back-to-back testing on NA6 vs NB6 manifold soon.
