No price difference on machine work for 0.060 vs 0.020. At least there shouldn't be. The only diff in price should be cheap stock pistons vs forged pistons. Even then you are only looking at like a $200 difference.

 

I want forged.

So .060 it is. The core I have has a melted piston in it and I haven't opened it up yet. So the .060 gives it a bit of buffer room anyways.

mr motorworx ran a 81.5 mm bore 78 mm is stock. but he also had to source different pistons etc block wise he was pretty confident he wasnt hurting himself to much.

 

My motor is running lower compression .060 pistons. I really wish I could give you more details but, the motor is mystery to me.

fwiw, my old sebring supercharger setup made 170whp on 6psi with the motor I have now. The dispacement is definately a bonus.
