Good god. 1400 bucks, no thank you.

It says it was designed for a rx7, since you have a miata I am going to say that it won't fit at all.

Here check this IC kit out.
Plenty of piping, couplers, T-Bolts, a moderate size IC and a BOV that you can sell if you don't want.

I came across a used one, guy wants 200 for it. I probably can't use the piping but the IC may fit.

15x10x2.5" intercooler for 200 bucks. Buy piping for ~75-100 bucks. Plus Being an rx7 intercooler, I bet the inlet/outlet are in a weird spot.

OR

27x7x2.5" intercooler WITH pipes for ~180 bucks shipped.

Using the core measurement of 400, (~16in) it looks like you'd have about a 24" for a radiator (and AC condenser) to fit between the reach-around inlet/outlet. If it would work, the easy thing might be to just cut the elbows off and then run some couplers to them to wrap around the stock exchangers. IMO that HKS intercooler is far superior to the china-coolers based on what I've seen. They've actually engineered it for performance vs. price- that means taking into consideration the shape of the end tanks and the entry into each tube from the end tank where it connects. I'd buy the intercooler for just $200- all the piping just sweetens the deal IMO.

I know, I hate to pass up a hks IC kit especially for 200. I may buy it and just resell it to make a couple bucks and then buy an ebay kit. Problem is finding someone with a late 80's rx7 who needs one.

I know a guy with an FC who needs a front mount. PM me with specifics if you'd like.

If given the chance to fondle saggy, old, busted, 'real' *****

OR

Perfectly constructed, young, supple, 'fake' ***** for $200

Would you pass up the nice rack 'just because' the other ones were real?

So, this just keeps getting better. The guy with the hks intercooler ends up calling me back and we get to chatting about mazdas. Before the mx5, I had a 90 rx7 vert so I can throw around a little rotary chit chat if need be.

Anyway turns out the guy still has the car. It's an 87 fc coupe shell that he originally planned on building up for a massive turbo. The car is in decent shape and has 18" wheels and tires (practically new), racing seats, and the IC along with a complete rear end though i'm not sure if it's an lsd or not?

So he starts trying to talk me into buying the whole car cause he's sick of seeing it rot in the backyard. I tell him I don't want it and he says "I tell ya what, i'll give you the whole car for $200 plus I'll deliver it to your house."

Lets just say...SOLD!

Now since the midwest is taking on snow like hustler takes on dudes, I won't see it until mid week but it's coming.

I'll post pics when I get it.
