Tuesday morning must be a popular time to order intercoolers... I appreciate the business gentleman, good luck with your builds!

FAB 03-01-2014 09:33 PM

Just wanted to share this with the NB and MSM crowd - Some great pictures from a customer install. Utilized the stock pipes with only a couple of silicone adapters - and obviously trimming the factory pipes down to allow for the substantially bigger core.

The install is similar for the NA guys.

Curious, why are there holes in the corners of the end tanks? Can't say I've seen that before.

FAB 03-05-2014 07:01 PM

Just part of the end tank casting.

PM's replied!

Fireindc 03-05-2014 10:13 PM

Well, now i want one. What is the black coating? Just black paint, or something more durable?

Imma gonna need proof that these don't go into the end tank. My brain doesn't comprehend.

wildman923 03-05-2014 10:44 PM

The black one looks amazing

Prepped and sprayed with a production automotive gun. First etching primer (for properly bonding to aluminum) and then a durable semi-flat paint that's formulated for heat dissipation.

Glad I'm not the only one then.

Erat 03-06-2014 08:58 AM

Like all the air would just leak out the holes??

You guys really think that?

ozbrock 03-06-2014 09:06 AM

Mine has the holes in the endtanks, they go straight through to the other side of the IC. There are no leaks.

I ran just black spray paint on my Begi #1 intercooler for 4 years and it held up fine. I do not think durability is to big of an issue.

No, as obviously that wouldn't work and no one would buy any. I was just wondering why they're there in the first place, thinking about them from a manufacturing standpoint. But Vlad nicely cleared up what they're intended for.

FAB 03-06-2014 11:59 AM

A couple more of the black shipping today. I must say they do look really aggressive in black. Can't wait to see some install photos. Should look really mean.

I still want pics of the 350 in both black and silver on an NB with the nose installed. We've got plenty of pics of the big dog, but some of us don't need a core that large. ;)

NA with the stage 2 in black, mind the mess in the middle of a engine rebuild.

FAB 04-16-2014 02:35 PM

Thanks for the pictures guys. Two more Stage 2 units going out today.

ThunderKunt 04-24-2014 03:44 PM

On the site it says the larger core is not compatible with ac on the NA. Im guessing thats because of the receiver drier so my question is would it be possible to move it with some sort of custom ac line setup or would you be able to make a kit if there was enough demand?

FAB 04-24-2014 04:14 PM

A number of people have made it work by simply moving the canister. The aluminum lines are flexible if you're careful - We just don't want to "officially" recommend bending your AC lines.

As for a kit, it's not something that has been brought up in the past but we do have access to the Aeroquip high pressure AC lines. If you determine what might be needed, I'll gladly give you my cost on the hardware for development sake.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

ThunderKunt 04-24-2014 04:43 PM

Ah ok cool. Its something I was thinking about doing but if it can be persuaded to move I will try that first.

FAB 04-28-2014 05:36 PM

PM's replied.

FAB 05-03-2014 11:50 AM

Tracking issued. You guys are eating up the flat black version. I want more install photos...
