Default Fabrication section?

I am going to put in the request for a fabrication section...

Would be nice to see what some of the members are capable of and to show off some work as well as talk about fab tools etc.

Dooo it

Going to practice setting up my ancient lathe for the first time tomorow.

then im going to setup my welder to practice welding aluminum this weekend to see if i can do aluminum... this is going to mean heading to the store to get a tank of argon and some stainless brushes...
The goal is to build an aluminum push around shop cart, or a welding bench.

cool game, i'll play. i got a tig welder, so its a bit odd, but my first project will be to stick weld a car dolly like this one. then i'll make some more bumper supports out of aluminum. then finally, stainless mani+dp ftw.

Here is a drawing I started to make today on lunch for a 1.6 intake manifold flange that I am going to send out to get water cut.

I am thinking about having it made 1" thick and doing some milling of the flange to get the oval runner inset ~0.100 and then properly ported to the head.

There is still 3 more bolt holes to do on the bottom and I need to actually measure the bottom to make sure im blocking the coolant ports coming from the head.

Does anyone have any information about optimal injector placement besides anything but stock?

Ps, i want this section haha

Not a bad idea, but I just kind of look at the whole mt.net forum as a "fabrication section"...individual projects can go in the appropriate subforum or just general miata or BS if it doesn't fit into a specific subforum.
