Default Time limit on editing threads

"The administrator has specified that you can only edit messages for 10080 minutes after you have posted. This limit has expired, so you must contact the administrator to make alterations on your message."

Is there a reason for this? I was going to edit a for sale thread to mark some items as sold. Might be nice to disable unless there is some reasoning behind it.

When updating forsale threads it's good to create a new post, just copy and paste and add what is supposed to be sold or still forsale. This bumps your thread and lets buyers know you're still active in that sale.

Not allowing people to edit past threads for an infinite amount of time keeps the confusion to a minimum. For example; Hustler makes a post saying he's going to bash in someones head while he forces them to jack his bicep off. Then everyone continues to say how gay Hustler is. If hustler changes his post to say something different then the entire thread would make zero sense unless you knew hustlers reputation.

In short, make new posts and QYB.

No, you make a new POST not thread.
You also can look at the very last thread in this subforum, which specifically addressed this.
