Default why else would i post in the help desk....

Such a god damn joke. Seriously. People on here don't think it's a big deal that have ad blockers but I don't have that option on a computer with restricted rights. It's also the principle behind it. Part of being a supporting member is no ads! my ***...

There was also an ad that was built into the quick reply that was covering up some of my text a few days ago. The next time I get a vizu ad I will no longer be a proud supporter.

You should cry about it a little more.

There's nothing wrong with the owners of mt.net using it to generate revenue. That's the way the web works.

Some web sites, including this one, offer the opportunity to pay money up front for an ad-free experience, essentially replacing ad revenue with membership revenue. You have the option of becoming a supporting member of mt.net to get rid of the ads and surveys.

OTOH, if you pay to become a member and STILL get ads, then you have a legitimate reason to cry.

Hopefully not jinxing myself here...

If you pay to become a member and deal with pop-up ads but non-paying members (who are also using rights-restricted terminals that do not have the ad-blocking add-ons installed) do not suffer the same pop-up ads...

I would think you would be justified in bitching.

Or just cancelling your membership if you aren't getting satisfaction after more than one complaint.

I did look before posting. So, either

a. The op became a supporting member sometime between 4:44 and 5:15, or
b. there's some kinda conspiracy going on, or
c. I fucked up

I can't take b seriously. c is possible, though it would be hard even for me to miss that big obnoxious Proud Supporter thing. I did check first.

If you pay to become a member and get ads then bitch. It has nothing to do with what anyone else is dealing with. I still enjoy a good dinner even knowing that somebody somewhere is eating something better.

I get popup ads on mobile devices and I've bitched, but it get's tiresome. Maybe I should send Nolan a PM every morning as routine.

Or just cancelling your membership if you aren't getting satisfaction after more than one complaint.
And then stop visiting mt.net entirely thus denying them ad revenue. That's what free market capitalism is all about, isn't it? The consumers controlling the market.

I wonder if the ads i block aren't creating revenue for the site. I sure as hell hope so.

What do you mean you don't have the rights to your computer? Like you're at work? If so, either A get off MT and do you job, or B tell your IT guy he is a freeking joke and can't get any type of blocking software running. Or both.

I'm at work right now, using a super old version of IE, and have every single ad and popup blocked. As i do at home. The system can always be beaten.
