I deranked down to MG2 :/

 

One day I will actually pick up CS:GO.

 

Might as well do it during the steam sale when it can be had for $7.50

 

Why does everyone keep calling me a smurf? Seriously who would have a 5 year coin on their 2nd account? Just because I'm kicking *** with only like 180 hours on my steam profile doesnt mean I'm a smurf.

Used to do 1.6 competitively back in the day.

Does this measure up? I've kind of been wanting to get back into playing some good FPS games with a regular crowd on PC but I feel like everything after BF2 sucks lol.

 

It was really good for a while. They fixed all the problems with CS:Source and got back to the roots of 1.6. Unfortunately it has sort of spiraled out of control recently. They keep adding weapon skins and ranks and experience leveling and other stupid **** only appreciated by the Call of Duty generation.
I understand that Valve wants to appeal to a larger audience, and CoD has had a permanent effect on the FPS genre, but it really ruins it for me.\

I heard recently that when you are unranked, something that happened when you stop playing for a while, you now have to play in casual until you earn enough "levels" to play comp again. Oh, and of course when you gain a level you get a weapon skin...

I had a lot of fun memories. Im just going to choose to remember the game the way it was a couple years ago.

 

I like all the extra skins and cases and crap. People suck it up. I've pulled in like 5 bucks from playing this game so far from selling cases and skin drops to idiots that care about that ****.

 

I've been active & playing recently. 'Feels' like 1.6, but its cs:go, or as close to 1.6 as possible on the new gaming engine

I was kinda 'eh' about it until I mapped my keys similar to my old 1.6 setup. Mouse binds, & similar buy script. I'm only rank 1 still

Since the last time the thread was bumped I made it to MG, got selected for overwatch, had a couple shitty days and dropped down to nova 4 and then made it back to MG yesterday.

 

LEM strats too hard. This was a game full of Supremes and 2 Global Elites. I heard the two guys running from B main, and decided to just keep holding down the trigger. I died shortly after because I couldn't stop laughing. Worth it.

 

Those other 2 CTs must of been pissed

 

I bet you got reported for that. Actually, maybe not, because of the level you were playing at. 100% that would have been reported in MG and lower.

 

They'd already said "reported" earlier in the game due to an excess of deagle headshots. lol.
