Best tank shooting game i have found to date... ONLINE.
You start off with a basic tank, you get xp as you participate in pvp battles (only pvp battles - theres no pve), you research stuff such as guns and engines, then upgrade your tank, you explore new tanks with the xp you get and so forth....

Space flight.. You level a ship, get xp by doing missions, put points into a build tree which then allows you to get higher level equipment (weapons, engines etc). It's cool but the lack of players online can make it boring. No players means no raid and no pvp (it has similar battleground and raid system to the popular world of warcraft)

 

Installed Blacklight: Retribution last night

 

I played Pardus for years. It was pretty addictive. Took too much time to be competitive (ie, devs constantly adding new resource sinks, making it difficult for part-time player like me to keep pace with 13 year olds in Taiwan).

 

Started playing World of Tanks last night. Fun game. Still learning tactics.

 

Tribes: Ascend. Team Fortress 2. Those are well known, but free to play and very good.

Currently downloading APB to check it out, that space prophecy game looks awesome so I want to check that out, and that blacklight FPS game looks neat.

Hmm not enough bandwidth for all of this! Gotta go one at a time for my slow connection. Keep em comin guys.

Takes some getting used to, but its pretty sweet after the fact.

 

The original APB was terrible.

Did they fix it with reloaded?

Only game I can really add to the list is LoTRO for those who are lord of the rings fans.

Agreed. One of the most fun free games i've ever played. Worth a shot for sure, i call it Grand Theft Auto, the MMO.

 

Tried Blacklight Retribution, for some reason it keeps freezing 5 minutes after playing.. freezes my entire system. I'm guessing windows 64 bit compatibility.

 

Played 2 games with no problems

 

I still feel its broken, but thats cause I paid for it.

 

using 7 pro. Dont know what to say, I might switch to 32bit again.

I never had these issues under xp.

It's currently in beta but looks pretty damn sexy. You will notice A LOT of similarity to the basic gameplay of TF2. These guys basically started designing the game-and had no way to make money on it, then decided to go the micro-transaction route. Then Steam/Valve made TF2 a Free To Play so it kinda put these guys in a tough place.

This. Seriously, go download this and win at life. I'm an absolute BattleTech/Mech-head and I was completely shocked to see that this got released for the free.

 

God DAMN, that firefall looks epic to me. Thats something id play!

Anyone play the beta yet? Is it worth it, or should i wait for release?

 

A co-worker turned me onto FireFall, he got on the beta list 3 YEARS AGO at PAX and just recently got his keys. If I can talk him out of a couple, I'll let you know

Another mech style shooter game, but A LOT faster with more action. (Also not out yet, see a theme here?) Been watching this one for a while and its just been getting better. I'm glad they have a solid release date on the site now! It says cinematic but there is some in-game video in there too.
