x2 on the 460. I love mine.

RussellT94 09-09-2012 12:26 AM

I guess it's lag from being in the starting areas.

Back to Battlefield 3 for now.

Erat 09-09-2012 12:46 AM

Yeah i gotta say. I had more lag in the lower level areas, and main hub areas. Lions Arch is pretty bad. But in big combat fights, or further out in the world it gets better.

Fireindc 09-09-2012 12:49 AM

i've got a gtx460 as well. Thing rocks.

triple88a 09-09-2012 12:57 AM

I'd love to buy Jeremys 560 but its kinda pointless for the moment. My 460 is running everything great and upgrading to a 560 and putting my 460 on my 2nd slot but doing that still wouldnt allow me to run surround view with the nvidia software so thats why i changed my mind.

Erat 09-09-2012 09:59 AM

So i fell through the map last night... Landed, and lived.

I guess the guys in my guild had this happen a couple times now.

News Flash (for some), GPU does not matter in GW2. Your cpu matters more then your gpu for getting good frame.

I get the same fps on all setting as soon as I'm out in the world with other players or wvwvw do to by AMD PII x4 840

Game is poorly hardware optimized.

Interesting. We'll i'm rocking the i3 sandy bridge 2120 with a gtx460 and have no complaints.

RussellT94 09-09-2012 08:58 PM

i5-3570k, Radeon 7870, 8GB RAM and this game runs like poo.

Diablo 3, Battlefield 3, Skyrim all run awesome, but I can't get this game to an acceptable frame rate on anything above the lowest graphic settings.

Bryce 09-09-2012 11:07 PM

Running my i7 920 at 4ghz with HT on. Vidya card is a GTX680. I find it to be plenty acceptable at all times @ 1920x1080. Every setting is all the way up. 60+ FPS 95% of the time.

I do agree with the statements about it not being very optimized. It seems very beta-like in terms of performance.

I'm on Tarnished Coast server. Acct: Hibar.6340

While i do not disagree with you about it demanding a bit of CPU power, i do disagree with it being poorly optimized. While it's not the best, it is MUCH better than a lot of other games out right now.

For example, take any console ported game. Those all run like garbage (and look like garbage might i add). GTA4 older game but still an amazing example. That game had horrid graphic issues. Missing textures, flat spots, missing ground, microstuttering, lagging, freezing i could go on and on. It was poor, and the performance suffered greatly. Which should not be the case when i'm running a rig that has 10 times the power of a 7 year old console.

This goes on a lot with console ported games. BC2, and BF3 was one of them. While they did do a dang good job, i still think GW2 is much better. The problems i'm finding with the game are unavoidable such as falling through the map. Just things that are hard to find on such a huge game. As far as hardware goes, mine seems to be working flawless with this game. I'm having more micro stuttering with PS2, and borderlands 2 right now.

Maybe i'm biased due to the machine i'm running games on.

RussellT94 09-10-2012 11:53 AM

Updated my video card driver and now have > 70 FPS. Whoops, should have checked it earlier.

Fireindc 09-10-2012 12:25 PM

LOL, yeah i gained a good 20FPS on this game after updating my nvidia drivers.

Which is why I say this game cant be THAT heavily cpu reliant. Just seems more CPU reliant than most games - which if very normal for an MMO this massive.

Yeah for sure.

Try playing planetside 2. That game really shuts down my system, though it's in beta. I ain't runnin on no slouch rig either.

Fireindc 09-10-2012 03:26 PM

I'd love to play some planetside 2, but no beta invite yet.

Planetside 2 Beta Key - Beta Keys - Curse

If i would have known i would have given you a shout. Next time the beta opens up i will for sure let you know.

It's such a toss up to put time in playing PS2 or GW2 they're both great games.
