Default iRacing

So I'm traveling right now, and spending a year or so in Germany. I don't have my Xbox with me, but I have my laptop so I splurged on the iRacing black friday sale. 1 year for $49. Just wondering if any other people here race on iRacing, and how you like it? I'm just using a gamepad right now, and once I find an apt. I am going to get a wheel. So far I'm quite impressed with the level of graphics for an online game (although most of the game is stored on your computer).

I was doing a lot of iRacing back in the mid to late summer but haven't been doing as much lately.

I have a Logitech G27 and I don't know how anyone would race without a wheel.

Overall I think the game is very good, I've had some awesome racing and in general it's pretty clean. The license and points system punishes contact pretty severly so people in general are good at keeping their noses clean.

I would say I'm an average sim driver at best, it's amazing how wicked fast some of the guys are...

Yeah I don't play as much as I would like to. Some of the cars take a lot of practice to be fast and there's always someone faster than you!

Good clean racing though, I've enjoyed it.

suckorz.. I just happened to bump into it. I was reading the Forza threads on here and since I've been traveling for 3 months now I'm in car withdrawl so I googled online racing. And it happened to be on sale.

If you or anyone here do buy it.. hook me up with a referral (aaron.witzke at gmail.com). It helps me towards buying extra cars and stuff...

I have been doing iRacing since 2008, the best racing sim to date in my opinion. It does demand a pretty stout rig to run it maxed out in the rear of a field of 20+ cars. I use a G27... definitely recommend a wheel asap

I play. mainly FGT running in the ISRA league. Every once in awhile I'll do a fix Proto race with some of my friends for giggles. Those fixed sets or awful for me.

Did you guys see this?

I think I'm going to do the same. I already have the 5 monitors just need a new card. That video card is $220 from Newegg right now!
