This game is getting pretty popular. Everyone i know who games is playing. Even those who aren't gamers want to play. Who here is playing?

I've decided that third person is what makes this game shitty. The ability to corner camp and see places without exposing yourself at all is rather lame. Hopefully on full release they come out with a first person only game mode.

+1 PUBG. Really enjoy this game. Used to play h1z1 a lot, but pubg has virtually replaced that for me. I enjoy the customization of the guns, etc.

This game makes my heart pound almost as much as a turbo Miata.

It has ruined all other games for me

yup lol. It sucks when i finish a game and i should have already been in bed. Because then i go lay down wide eyeed and all wound up, and I cant fall asleep.

I don't have good enough hardware at the moment.

What are you running? I ran this game and put about 75 hours into it on my 4 year old ASUS ROG laptop with a gtx770m, settings on very low and still got 35-40fps. Not ideal, but totally playable. And honestly, most the people I play with have gtx1080's and still run on mid settings to get an advantage, there is less foliage and cover on lower settings to it's easier to spot people sneaking around. And since the game is not really optimized yet, it's hard to get really high fps even with good hardware.

This thread makes me chuckle tho, everything stated above is true. It makes you be irresponsible (I went out and bought a new/used pc and a blackwidow chroma keyboard this weekend), will make you lose sleep (have stayed up till 2 am when I had work the next day more than a few times now), will literally make your heart pound (especially towards the end of the match when shit gets real), and is completely addicting... I can't say I've ever played a game that sucks you in this hard and physically effects you while playing.

I'm glad I'm not the only one losing sleep and garage time over this game. The list of stuff to go on the car keeps growing. I think I'm up to almost 100 hours as well, and that's chump change compared to the guys I play with.

Be careful what you wish for! If you let it, this game will consume all the free time you have... very easily lol. Also, you can use first person at any time but you are at a disadvantage because in 3rd person you can see around corners. They are going to add first person only servers so it can be fair.

First person only is going to be soooo much better.. I think... corner camping is fuking BS. Well, at least until it is advantageous to you.

And no this game doesn't consume your free time, it consumes all time, it is a literal black hole. I managed to stay off for 2 days in a row. I feel like I should get an award or something, and maybe go to PUBG Anonymous (PUBGA) meetings.

I've stayed off for like 5 i think. But custom loop had the system down for a bit. Though i do admit i tried to play a little on my old system, it's just not the same.

Pretty sure they're pushing out these updates soon.

The update hits test servers for a day or maybe a week?? I don't know. But some good changes are coming. I do hope that the report a player isn't abused and it's fairly easy to use. It's hard to know if a person is cheating if they are good at it(go watch youtube videos). Also being able to reconnect after a DC is huge. This should have been implemented a while back. It would really help in the early stages of the game with a lot of people crashing. But yeah other than that, FPV should be here soon, if not by the time you read this post.

Reconnect after dc should have been in the alpha. No excuse for that.

I've had like 10 top 10 games in first person servers so far. It's such a game changer.

Played a bit tonight, definitely a great game... unfortunately my gfx card sucks big-ol donkey sack and I have to play everything on ultra low settings. I lag while parachute etc... Once I'm on the ground I do 'ok', but nothing to write home about.

Just makes me want to upgrade my PC even more... :vash: Come on threadripper!

Ryzen 1600 or even a 1500x with a gtx1070 is in your future.
This combination seems to be super solid and a lot of people are doing this.

im on a 4 year old i5 (3570k i think) and had to upgrade to a gtx1050ti. runs great. a 1050ti is only like $130

M4 kitted with a suppressor and a 4x is OP as frig.

A bit of an update, the game is somewhat playable after moving it over to my SSD.

Still laggy at times. I'm using up the majority of my 4GB of ram, cpu & gpu are cookin with heat. I did a slight OC on the gpu with msi afterburner and that helped a bit. Pushing the limits on my gtx 750ti.

A new system is in my future for sure. FWIW, I have a cousin staying with me while he finds a job in Austin. So if I'm on Steam playing PUBg, he might actually be playing.

The SKS is pretty nuts now that it has a grip attachment slot. With compensator, vertical grip, extended mag, cheek pad and 4x scope it's a straight beast.

I wish I could try out the new Mk14 but I usually try to avoid air drops since they are such a massive bullet magnet.

Agree about the SKS too. Though I think it would have benefited more to just raise the damage and leave the accuracy low. I had the MK14 once but didn't kill anyone with it.

This game was so dumb. I love it.
Land at school because YOLO. Kill team and looot, move to apartments. Loot more. Get loot crate. Win zone lotto, not have to move more than 100m entire game. Only get hit enough to use boosters. Kill every person shot at. Win game.

The one time I got lucky and got the AWM from a drop, I got 10 kills with it... took out a squad of 3 that didn't know where I was right at the end. Twas glorious... got picked off and ended up 3rd that match...

Also, got my first solo W last night! Felt so good... I normally play duos or squads, but I realize that I do alot better solo.

And I've started to use the Vector lately. It is a beast, especially with all the goodies. That setup came in handy when it was down to just me and one other in a tiny circle.

Been playing more. Played last night for a few hours with a buddy of mine in Duo 3rd person. We came close to dinner a few times. Luck of the draw, bad circle areas.

I played 4 games last night. Won all 4, extremely casually too. Though we were playing Asian servers, they are a bit easier.

I'v been playing daily for the last week. It's more fun than I was expecting..

Also Erat and I just played a duos round in fog, where we found two different care packages, and we got the chicken dinner while I was using M24 and he had an AWM. Last guy didn't stand a chance when we found out where he was lmao.

When I had my first Duo win in the rain. I ended up downing the other guy's teammate with a SKS headshot while being sneaky on a plane. I pushed and was put down. My teammate was already pushed up and took the other guy on the left. :bigtu:

The fools I run with sometimes win 6+ games a night.

I should be on tonight and tomorrow night for a few hours. Then all weekend we'll be doing our thing. We are actually doing a 6-8 person PUBg LAN party this weekend, people should be filtering in and out.
