The main group. We'll probably get going again after breakfast.

I think we won 4 in a row but a total of 5 or 6 last night. We had it recorded and i had a camera in the room. It was pretty cool to high five everyone after a dinner.

Lol

I found us in that video lmao. I was like "I swear to god that's Paul's voice. And I remember this stupid lobby as well."

The whole video is pretty good too though.

This damn game. I can hardly play it anymore. It's so bad...

Here i was thinking they were going to hire some ACTUAL developers. People who have professional and academic training.
Oh well.

Nothing changed, if anything they've been slowly fixing it and making it better, hes just finally done with it i think lol.

The game isnt finished, its in pre-release beta whateverthefuk mode. So theres bugs. Also they didn't expect this much success, so they are short on server capacity and its noticeable almost all the time, there doesnt seem to be much "off peak hours" for this game. You just hope there isnt a lag spike or desync when you're in a fire fight or driving.

This game in particular makes these issues so much more aggravating because of how much time you can put into it just to be lost due to lag spike, and shit always seems to fuk you when RNG happens to favor you for once.

CSGO is 2 min of your life, PUBG can be 30.

hi_im_sean 11-04-2017 03:49 PM

heres a compilation of aggravating shit

Erat 11-05-2017 01:50 PM

It was developed by a couple of guys who took up programming as a hobby. They created mods for existing games and so forth. They finally mustered up the courage to create PUBG, it was a small shitty indie game with a few followers (much like a lot of steam games). But the developers of PUBG decided to start paying very popular streamers money to play their game and say good things about it. One thing lead to another and everyone was playing it.

At first it was cool, there was steady bi-weekly updates. Changes were being made, they were listening to their beta testers, ect. Then it all started going down hill. So far they sold 15 million copies at $30 a pop, i'll let you do the math.
There are so many things to list wrong with the game it's hard to list. But that's no the problem. The problem is that they have no ambition to actually fix problems that currently exist and have existed for months. They released a statement that said the game is not going to be in beta much longer and they are planning on releasing it on xbox spring 2018. This tells me they don't care about making it work right. They are continuing to develop new maps, new features, and change the game, but have not even bothered to fix what is already broken. Like i said, after making half a billion dollars, you would think that you would hire some people who actually know what they're doing...

This is also a good rant.

Are there any free FPS's with a similar feel and sensitivity to PUBg? I'm rusty with shooting games, I used to play Contract Wars last year and Rush Team a while back and when I consistently play I am pretty decent. It's hard to get good at PUBg because you have much less shooting opportunities per minute than other FPS's, so I haven't been able to get back into the feel of the FPS. I've gotten the hang of getting loot, making my way to a building and taking guard when I can spot guys coming from afar, but as soon as there's close quarter battle I can never beat the other guys reaction time. I got back on Contract Wars and it just has a different feel that I don't think will help with PUBg. Some say Counter Strike GO is a good trainer for PUBg, but I don't want to pay for that as well.

So fuking true. This was my biggest issue with pubg, there is just no opportunity to get good and get a feel for the weapons mechanics if you land for and play to get chicken dinners. About a month ago, I started landing at nothing but school and military base. Get gun, practice, die, do it again. You can also land as far away from every body and get a gun and just practice on inanimate objects until someone or the circle gets you.

Also, sub to WackyJacky101 on youtube. His vids are fantastic for learning game mechanics.

I was debating emailing blueassholes to ask for a sandbox or practice mode, they really need to make something like that.

acedeuce802 11-07-2017 01:12 PM

That's a good idea to land at high traffic areas just for practice. So far I've just been landing at small groups of buildings that are somewhat near to cities, but far enough away that there's no traffic. I've been making it to the top 30 every time and top 10 a few times, and by then I'm playing with the experienced guys.

I got down to final 4 last night. Shit gets intense. I haven't been on pins and needles in a game like that.

hi_im_sean 11-07-2017 01:45 PM

Are we friends on steam? add me if not. steam id- hi_im_sean

We can just do practice rounds if you want. git good.

I made a bad habit, really from now knowing any better, for the first 3 or 4 months by doing exactly what you do. Small compounds outside the hot zones, play loot master 5000 for 20 minutes, get into the top 10-20 and fire 2 bullets and die. I play squads mostly, with much more experienced players, and I wasn't learning anything. I should have been playing solos or duos and dropping into hot zones from the start. Id be way ahead right now if I did. Ive improved a ton in the last few weeks. Got a 50 yard choked pump shotgun headshot last night lol. bet that guy was pissed. Could have also just been RNG being nice to me though.

edit- yea pins and needles. this is why this game is so addicting. It gets my adrenaline going, for real, i get shaky lol. But getting a win after that last intense few minutes is glorious.

Erat 11-07-2017 01:59 PM

Still able to glitch jump out of unbroken windows for months and wants a sandbox mode. Lmao.

If they just start with making the game feel less clunky that would be a huge start.

Well, that's with the assumption that they actually finish development. I know, I know. For fucks sake they are pushing vaulting in the test server, but you can still jump through windows.

Erat 11-07-2017 03:10 PM

I mean. It's fun, but if I want to have an enjoyable experience I'll play a game made by professional developers. It is what it is, an indie game made by some regular guys.

It's my fault for thinking they would reinvest some of their millions back into the game.

Girz0r 11-08-2017 03:07 PM

Waiting for the clunky feel to go away, hoping the vaulting clears some of this up.

Been playing Doom II multiplayer as of late, some Toxikk too.

acedeuce802 11-21-2017 10:57 PM

Finally got a real gaming rig up and running. Ryzen 5, 16GB 3200Hz, and a GTX 1070. It's a little nicer playing PUBg at ultra settings on 1080p at 80 fps, rather than 20 fps on 720p ultra low settings. Just need a headset and some more practice and I'll start figuring out the whole team thing.

Not bad. Did you build it or buy it?

Also for a headset, the HyperX Cloud Core's from Gamestop are reasonably priced ($60-$70) and sound great. I run them thru an old Creative X-Fi sound card (ebay $30-$50) and it's amazing the advantage you can get from high quality audio. My chicken dinner ratio went up considerably after I started using this setup. Being able to more accurately hear what's coming, especially around corners helps a ton.

acedeuce802 11-22-2017 09:13 AM

I built it, first time doing anything inside a case other than pushing in more RAM, definitely a good learning experience! Here's the build list: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/HDv6TH

I'll check those out. I watched a few videos on detecting gun fire, but it didn't help at all with monitor speakers. I think some nice headphones would definitely help.

Mech5700 11-22-2017 09:56 AM

Good deal man. PCpartpicker is the way to go. What did you end up spending on the GPU? The last few I bought were used, damn things are so expensive new... Ended up with a 1080Ti for about $500 out of pocket, took some trading and cash but I'm glad I made it happen.

And for headphones vs speakers, I go headphones hands down. I mean having both is ideal for different purposes, but for PUBG it seems like having headphones helps a ton. Not just for gunfire direction, but hearing footsteps or even enemy reloading. It's really fun to pinpoint where someone is hiding when they think they have the upper hand, then they end up with a grenade in their lap.

acedeuce802 11-22-2017 10:40 AM

I got it for $320, Gigabyte Gaming G1 1070. It's got about a year and a half left on warranty. At first I was thinking of going with a new 1060 or RX580, but I think it was worth going used for the 1070.

Mech5700 11-22-2017 11:05 AM

Oh ok I see now, $320 you manually put that in. $455 new. I have the gigabyte Aorus 1080Ti, been working great so far. Don't forget to download the software for it, you can control fan operation and overclock it too.

Yep! Got both the CPU and GPU overclocked already. I was a little nervous about cooling with OC, but everything was running in the 60C range.

I guess I need to look into this. Those plugged into onboard mobo sound should suffice no?

FWIW im running ~60fps on 1080 res, with anti-aliasing on ultra, and most everything else on high, with a $130 1050ti and a 5 year old i5.

Anyone else home all day today and going to play?

Mech5700 11-22-2017 02:08 PM

Wish I was home playin!!!

Anyway, the onboard sound just seems bleh to me. I just sold this yesterday : https://www.ebay.com/itm/23256963545...84.m1559.l2649 . Even that made a huge difference in sound quality, it was night and day. I got my brother this: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Creative-La...72.m2749.l2649 for Christmas, he's got a decent pair of Sennheiser headphones but no sound card. Even tho it's an older card, they still give a huge increase in audio quality. I don't think I'll ever go back to onboard audio again lol.

Erat 11-22-2017 02:33 PM

Onboard audio with a desktop DAC or tube amp is the way I go... Some of these good expensive motherboards have some pretty serious onboard sound.

hi_im_sean 11-22-2017 02:44 PM

lol PUBG on tube amp.

Will a custom ST-70 and transmission lines do?

Mech5700 11-22-2017 02:49 PM

Never really thought about that rout for gaming, and I've never really had a high end mobo-mostly mid grade. My other brother composes music and has a desktop DAC, music sounds amazing but I think it's kinda overkill for games, especially for that kinda money.

hi_im_sean 11-22-2017 02:50 PM

But if you already have it.... Im going to give it a try for solos, I prefer headset with mic for teams.

Erat 11-22-2017 03:01 PM

Yeah I bought my "audio" setup for listening to music. I think it's transferred to gaming nicely.
My headphones don't have a mic, so I just use a stand mic.

Edit*

When you get headphones and mic download discord. We've all got channels you can join when / if you play with us. It's a lot better and easier than the ingame chat.

DaWaN 11-23-2017 02:59 AM

I am using a Corsair HyperX Cloud Stinger headset together with a cheap USB sound card. Sound quality is good enough, I have zero problems locating gunshots.

Spent the evening yesterday playing the new build on the test server. I am getting excited for the 1.0 build now, the performance on my crappy PC (i7-3930k + RX-470) was significantly better, graphics looked better, vaulting works well and looks nice too, ballistics and vehicle physics are much improved, the map got some improvements. Not entirely sure about all the sound updates, but the music in the menu is at least much more epic now.

Fireindc 11-23-2017 06:12 PM

I'm looking for a new video card for pubg and other newer games. Hoping to find a cyber Monday deal. What's your guys's recommendations for a sub $200 card?

I would not go sub 200$ when buying a new card I think. I would go Geforce GTX1060 or Radeon RX470 / RX570 as minimum, but those are most likely a bit more than 200$.
If you really have just 200$ to spend I would look second hand, if that is not possible I think your only choice would be the GeForce GTX1050Ti as the AMD offerings below 200$ are not worth it in my opinion.

Erat 11-24-2017 06:21 AM

Gtx 980. That's not a lot of money for a vid card today unfortunately.

Mech5700 11-24-2017 07:23 AM

The last GTX980Ti I had I sold for $300 used... a reg 980 I think goes for 200-250 right now.

Bunch of the HyperX Cloud line of headsets on sale right now on Amazon:

Haven't touched PUBG in a while. How are the recent updates? Is the game a bit more optimized?

Mech5700 11-28-2017 10:37 AM

I think they have done some minor stuff, but the test server has a bunch of new stuff going on. We should be close to the 1.0 patch soon, can't wait!

hi_im_sean 11-28-2017 10:49 AM

Its been a little smoother lately. Still died twice in the last week due to server lag.

V1.0 to be released around Xmas, the feedback from the test servers looks really promising. And apparently Xbox on dec 12th? and they're still undecided if they are going to allow cross platform servers. Not sure if that's a good or bad thing. PC vs console players in a FPS just doesn't go well for the console guys. PC master race.

Erat 11-28-2017 10:58 AM

Really? I thought the feedback was somewhat negative other than vaulting. Also the test servers were having major lag and glitching issues.

From what I saw it was a bunch of unimportant petty changes. Moved shit around on the UI, fonts and sounds changed. New gun looked decent, I thought there was two but I only saw one. Some optic changes. I really dislike how it's different on different guns. If they're gonna do that it should be random as you pick it up.

I do like the new heavily wooded area they added. That is what the map needs more of.

hi_im_sean 11-28-2017 11:28 AM

I guess it depends who you listen to. The few streamers I watch besides Doc all seemed to like it, dunno.

Erat 11-28-2017 11:53 AM

Yeah. A lot of those guys were kinda saying the same thing. They didn't mind the updates and changes. But would of rather had the issues fixed and the gameplay optimized.

You're first mistake is watching doc play any game. I used to like him waaaaay back in cod4 days. He gets way to upset at a game that's in alpha.

hi_im_sean 11-28-2017 02:34 PM

Not a mistake, hes entertaining. I don't watch him to improve gameplay. But yea that's why I said: besides. Hes a cry baby.

acedeuce802 11-29-2017 12:04 PM

I picked up a Plantronics Gamecom 788 headset for $20. Even though I'm sure the HyperX is a great value, I've been spending like crazy lately and have to save a few $$$. Also, I picked up an Oculus Rift, so not only is that more money spent, but most of the games I'll be playing from now on won't need a headset anyway. Either way, this headset got really good reviews for the price. The headset is a total game changer! Not only do you hear every footstep, car/house door, etc, it also makes you a lot more aware of your own sound and how to minimize being spotted. Squad also seems pretty fun so far, despite the fact that playing with rando's is annoying and they usually don't communicate or know what's going on.

hi_im_sean 11-29-2017 01:29 PM

Well im on the predecessor, gamecon 780, hearing that i may not spring for the cloud2. Add me and stop playing with randos.

Fireindc 11-29-2017 01:39 PM

I bought a 3gb gtx1060 from newegg black friday for 170. Super stoked on it. It runs BF1 on medium/high at 60fps SOLID. Have yet to pick up PUBG.
