Now regarding gore games..
Left 4 dead is ok.
Highly recommend dying light 1 (coop up to 4 players). Good prep for DL2. Not sure how young the kid is but it's gory.
Try applying for the beta for back 4 blood which is apparently a new version of left 4 dead. I tried it, wasn't a fan but everyone is different.
The Forest is also very good.

Personally I play World of Warcraft Lich King edition on a private server. if you like those types of games, i highly recommend you look into it... free... Warmane.com

Driving coop games..
snowrunner is fun. Driving giant trucks in the mud. it can be a slower game though.

Shooting shooting games mechwarrior 5 (coop up to 4) Some folks just made vr mod for this, haven't tried the new version of the mod yet so cant say how good it is.
mech warrior online is a multiplayer pvp game 12vs12. free
Armored Warfare is tank game. Also has coop. You drive a tank and kill other tanks. free
World of tanks is hard team pvp tank vs tank game. free

Thats a decent list that should get you started.
Thanks. Junior is 15, so not worried about gore/content.

FWIW, we tried out "Deceit" on Friday, and our group ended up playing for over 6 hours. Similar premise to Among Us I guess (which I absolutely hate), but in first person shooter/monster form with big levels. Was OK with four people, perfect with 5-6.

Automobilista 2 is back on sale for 20 bucks.
Assetto Corsa Competizione is also like 16,

Also BeamNG is down to 20 but it's a shame it has no VR.

Here is my Sim Labs rig before going to VR. I had a 4K 55" TV at first. I tried a Valve Index and a Quest 1. They didn't seem $700 worth of difference. I tried the Quest 2 and was sold. BTW Automobilista 1 now has a VR mod and it feels better than AMS2 in terms of physics.

Nice! I've been fairly happy with my CSL Elite, but haven't really spent any time at all "tuning" it. Which I've read is supposed to make it even better.

Check the fanatec forums, there's base settings they have for most games.

I made a DIY Boost kit for my Fanatec CSL DD. Works perfectly.

Anyone punishing themselves with BF2042?

Maybe i'm turning into a grumpy old man

The grumpy old man in me is really disappointed with the series. As a lifelong player, it really makes me sad to see the state of the game these days.

You got the new DD wheel, right? That sucks. I'm going to hold off on any upgrades for quite awhile after dropping just over $6k to build my current setup.
I need to go through some of the YouTube videos and actually really tune my wheel and stuff, but I've been too lazy.

I still need to get my monitors perfect and clean up and organize my office. I guess I'll do that at the end of the month since we have from the 23rd to the 3rd off.
