Ok, I give up. Who's the little black fellow with the beetle head and butterfly wings?
|
He doesn't really exist. I made him.
|
Anyway, rounding the horn back into Ritalin Bay:
|
^ I want one.
|
^The guy playing is terrible, and that's coming from a bad TF2 player!
|
You actually need to move your legs? Too much like work. I'll pass on that part.

How come we arent arranging any more MvM matches or group PvP?

Might I suggest the Radeon 7770? It's quite inexpensive, runs quiet and cool, has very low power consumption, and does a perfectly adequate job of rendering Princess Luna in all of her sparkly purple majesty at 1920x1200 & >150 FPS.
What are the specs on the old PC? 4GB of ram. ATI HD4830. |

MvM is a bust because Joe is easily bored with predictable computer adversaries.
It's true that AI adversaries bore me (Space Invaders much?), but there's another flaw in the game mode that I find annoying. If one player on your team crashes / ragequits / gets called up from the basement by their mother for dinner, then that pretty much kills it for the team. This also means that in order to not violate Wheaton's Law, I myself have to make a large commitment of time to join up an in MvM game, and continue playing long after I'm bored / too drunk to continue in order to avoid pissing off the rest of my team. Thanks, but I just far prefer the more casual style of the regular pickup games. I'll never become involved in tourney play for the same reasons.

I have a 3.16Ghz Duo2.
4GB of ram. ATI HD4830. That video card underperforms even my old GTX280 (which I will still pay someone a penny to take from me, as an alternative to tossing it in the garbage.) I've been quite happy with the new(ish) Radeon 7770. It's not at the very top of the list, but it gets the job done. Cool, quiet, fast, and still in production. Mine's the MSI 2PMD1GD5 with dual fans: MSI R7770-2PMD1GD5/OC Radeon HD 7770 GHz Edition 1GB 128-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card - Newegg.com It probably won't be good enough to play Call of Duty 27 across three screens, but on a single 1920x1200 monitor, it gives me >100 FPS at all times in TF2, even when visiting Pyroland (which used to just kill my old 280). As for the CPU, I assume you mean the Wolfdale E8500 Core 2 Duo? It certainly benchmarks a lot lower than the Lynfield i5-750 (first gen) which I'm using, although for TF2 I'd think that it ought to be adequate. Have you looked at your CPU and RAM load while in-game? You might be able to use Nvidia System Monitor to do this via OSD (not sure if it'll work with an ATI card present), or you cold just put Windows task manager up on a second monitor. |

I'm flattered to be thought of as the sole reason for MT's lack of MvM play.

Yeah, don't listen to Joe. He's why we don't do MvM.
I'm honestly not that great of a player- now that I'm playing on a server that's mostly filled with competent players (as opposed to just picking pub servers at random based on ping) I've had to get used to not finishing in the MVP Podium on every single map, and settle for just working my way into the upper half of the scoreboard. It's a lot tougher playing on servers with truly competent and skilled opponents, but it adds something to the game when I can finally hunt one of them down and score a revenge. |

It's been awhile since I've played. I'm due.

I just installed Planetside2... what the fuck?
|
So i played that game for an hour and a half or two now... all i gotta say is...what the fuck is going on?
|
We really need to arrange a PvP match then.
