Hey guys just thought i would share my $10 hood louver!
It all started at Lowe's when I was looking for some pvc pipe and saw an assortment of ac vents!

They had a bunch of different sizes but I ended getting the 6×14 for just under $10!



Then after flattening the borders I did a little design with some sharpie and tape...


Took the plunge and cut it...
Cut and placed on hood for street cred yo... Ignore the faded paint 😂
After the worst 3 hours of my life I was able to get all of the white vinyl off... Now for powder coating!

It didnt fit in my toaster oven... DUH but I got creative and melted the powder on with a heat gun. It worked surprisingly well!


Since this is just a test piece I'm not too worried about overall finish.-

I will be rivetting this to the hood and making cuts next week! Super excited to see this come together and it's a much cheaper solution the any hood louver kits I have come accross.-

these might be too flappy at high speeds, the metal on these if very thin.

go HDR team. lol

 

Im planing on placing 6 rivetsincluding one in the center... Hopefully it won't flop around! Thanks for the input
