Default 2001 NB 1.8 to a 1997 NA

I have searched and search but could not find anything to answer my questions. The opportunity has come up for me to buy a 2001 NB with only 53,000 that was hit on the front left fender and the seller only wants $1,900. I want to buy it asap but first I have some questions. I am assuming that a NB 1.8 into a NA is a common swap but has anyone on here done this and turboed it? Does anyone know of any problems arising that require a good amount of fabricating? I know that the block will fit fine and so will the tranny. Will VVT be a problem at all? I am planning on getting AEM F/IC 8 when I am ready to turbo it. Basically what I am planning on doing is swapping the motor, tranny, and diff (If torsen). Last question is can I switch over the ECU from the NB without a problem?

a few people have swapped just the head, the whole motor, and various other combinations.

there's no reason you can't swap in the whole drivetrain and ECU. If the subframes are good, you might be able to just unbolt them from both cars and swap bodies. in theory!

I have a 99 engine in my 95. There is no extra fabrication needed, it's literally PNP. I don't know about the ecu since wiring is most likely to be different between the cars.

Oh yes I forgot the only thing you would really need is a fuel rail with the opening for the FPR towards the front.
