The diff and transmission will have the best chance of surviving if insulated from the exhaust piping to keep the oils from losing film strength. I'm sure the choice of oils makes a difference, too, but I'm not recommending anything because I am not sure I have a better or worse choice than everyone else. I'm going against the grain and using Shockproof from Redline but this transmission is a used 100k+ mile unit from a track day car that was already whining a bit. And I'm only just over 320whp at present. So far so good.

My strongest 5 speed had a god awful whine to it. It adds character if you ask me.

just tell everyone you have a dogbox with straight cut gears thats why it sounds like that

ive been using ford motorcraft mtf for the trans and lucas gear oil (80w-90 i think?) for the diff. open to trying other things, i just know a lot of people love the motorcraft. I do get a harsh/clinking engagement in 2nd sometimes tho. how often do you change your diff/trans fluid with pretty regular track abuse?

Every 4 or 5 visits to the track depending upon how much actual track time I get.
