Default '95 miata with a '97 motor

Hey everyone, just a quick question with the compadibility of a '97 motor in a '95 miata. I had finally broke down and bought a 97 engine with 64k on it but I heard that it pushes 5 more HP and there is something that has to do with the computer. Does anyone know if there will have to be any rewiring? Or is it just due to the higher compression?

Compression on a '97 is the same as '95... the difference is in the tuning of the OBDI ('95) and OBDII ('97) ECU's.

The only other potential difference is to have one of the "early" 1.8's from 94 and potentially into 95, with the 8.8:1 ratio, vs. the 9:1, which the rest of the M1 1.8s are....
