99-00 N/A questions

As some of you know I got me a DD, a 2000 Miata 5-spd. Great little car and I have been sorting through the many little problems.
One being that some dumb fuck installed a POS cold air intake (warm air more like it). I placed the filter right over the exhaust header, excellent idea. And it was blue! Attachment 203709 Here is the new setup eliminating the blue piping and installing the AIT sensor in the filter neck. Looks good but car now runs like crap??? I getting a code and have to pull it, (was getting a code before this also so I don't think that was it, seems the CAT has fallen out oops). Here is the new setup. Anyone else done this? Is the MAS to close to the throttle? Someone told me that would be an issue. IDK. Thanks! Attachment 203710 Going to MS soon but till then I need my DD running. |
Got it.

I used to have that exact same setup on my 99 (with the 90 degree elbow and filter on the TB)
mine ran fine, so Im not sure whats wrong with your setup. Im inclined to think it isnt the intake. Also, GET A TURBO. hahahahaha |
The way you positioned it is great and should have no problems. I agree: its not the intake.
