Default Need help with oil leak issue

I acquired a 1997 NA miata with oil leak issues, bought all the gaskets you can buy for that particular engine. Looks like there was major oil saturation on the front and passenger side of the engine. I suspected the valve cover and oil pan gaskets needed changed yet there is SOO much oil leakage that I wondered where else it might be leaking from. Anyone have any similar issues and any tips or tricks for what I might need to do? Plan on having Mr. "944obscene" help me out tomorrow with tearing out the engine. Thanks for any info!!!!!

front crank seal, both camshaft seals, CAS seal, valve cover gasket, those come to mind. maybe your accessory belt is slinging oil off the crank pulley.

Tip: Before you tear into the engine, clean everything off really well.

Madboy and I will be working on the car tomorrow. I have a cherry picker so getting to everything we need isn't going to be too difficult. I assume its the front seals, but we're double checking with you guys.

Come on here. I'm living vicariously since I no have Miata. Its a joint-effort.

And yes, tips on working with this thing will be appreciated.

I would just degrease it and change all of the seals, easier if it is out of the car for sure!

my 1.6 had so many oil leaks that it wasn't really worth my time to just replace one:

so is it easier when pulling the engine to pull it with the tranny? or just the engine alone? oh and I'm a dumbass, I just looked at my title and it's a 1995 miata. Not '97. DOH!
