Aftermarket door card opinions
I'm not a fan of the OEM door cards/panels. I've seen a variety of replacements out there, some made from aluminum. Has anyone purchased them and--if so--can you recommend a certain product?

LRB Speed and JDSM make 'em.
I've seen the JDSM in person. Looks pretty simple |
make them yourself. I made a set using NA upper door bumpers and abs door cards for my 10ae. I'm sure you've seen photo's as they always surface in a door card thread before too long.
Very very easy and overall cheap. |
Pacman99 used the stock NB tops

https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1450982117 It's all because of this molding in the NB door card. If it went in just 1/4" more it would be perfect. https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1450982117 |
So did you go with the NA tops then?

Im not sure how hard it is for the nb but for my na i figured it was cheaper to make replacements instead of spending the money on "store bought" cards.

Flat diamond pattern panels like the black one are very easy and very cheap to make. You just sew some material over batting or foam with some backing material and stretch it over cardboard or abs that has been cut in the proper shape. A little spray glue to hold it down and you are good.
Some material comes already fused to foam in a pattern. |
I used the foam padding you use under the floating hardwood floors.. Right from lowes.. Works awesome but it only comes in big rolls
