Default Aftermarket Fenders

Do you guys have a preferred brand of aftermarket fender, or do you spend double for the OEM's. Im starting to work on the body and i bought a set of Evan Fischer Fenders for $250 on amazon. They look decent but the fit up is pretty poor. Let me hear your fender stories.

And is there a reason we don't have an exterior sub forum?

Do you need brand new? In my AO good used OEM fenders go for around $100.

I suppose i don't need new, would be nice to have premiered fenders though as I'm going to be painting the car and i would love to have parts that don't need a ton of sanding and filling.

I believe you mean "primed". Really it shouldn't be that hard to find good condition fenders in your same paint color, unless you have a weird paint color.

Yes i understand i still need to prime, my mistake. I wanted fenders that didn't require a bunch of work to get ready for paint ( this includes primer). I should have wrote it differently.

Anyways I'm all set, the company sent me another passenger fender that fit up a lot better. I know have two fenders to work with and my carbon miata flares came in.

Oems are not more expensive just because oem. Its because they pay tens of thousands of dollars to insure that the fender will fit right when it shows up at your door ie fixtures and such (what i design and build by trade) do you really think some random company pumping out shitty fenders will have good quality control?

Just my take on any kind of aftermarket body parts.

Though i would kill for a set of fenders that can fit a bigger tire without needing to do anything but having it painted.

Yeah I get why they cost more, I didn't want to spend that kind of money. $600 shipped, I was just asking if anyone uses aftermarket and if the have found a preferred brand that tends to fit best.

I know oem should fit best, although I have heard that oem isn't that great either.

Anyway I'm all set, had to get a 2nd passenger fender and it fit much better than the 1st.
