I had this same problem on my jeep a while back, "fixed" it by slapping a 4 inch magnet from an old sub on the muffler. It's been at least 2 years and it's still holding strong. Admittedly I don't care on my jeep about the ghetto fix or the added weight, I would probably fix it right on my miata.

EDIT: Just realized I necro'd this thread, I had a bunch of tabs open and thought for some reason that this was recent >.< sorry guys.
