Another Coolant Reroute option

@pat. That, or tap into the back off the head like mine (scroll up). You can then place the tstat in the recess in the head. And the coolant sensor in the heater line. That's what I am planning.

I am assuming that the reduces flow through the heater core when the tstat opens will not affect the readings on the coolant sensor that I am placing in the heater core inlet tube.

Yes. If you need to get the pipe out of the way that goes to the mixing manifold, a 1.8 thermostat cover works and then a "T" in the bottom radiator hose to pick up the return from the heater into the manifold.

I have used various combinations of 1.6 and 1.8 thermostat housings to make the inline thermostat housing. Grind and file down the part that mounts to the engine to slide into a 1 1/4" hose.

BP reroute with B6 neck and FWD heater bung... Temp sensor lead bent 90deg and re-coated (red). This runs coolant to hotside but can fit around turbo ect with care

Looks like the water temp sensor, but he had to dip it in that liquid rubber stuff to insulate the wire.
