Mine do- a lip cut into the sleeve. The fit perfecly on the front bilsteins- no looseness at all. But the rears didn't fit nearly as tight. So I'm temporarily sitting them on the original bilsteins perches- which still gives plenty of room for adjustments, just isn't pretty.

Well I'm extremely tempted to buy the cheap ebay ones that are like $40 shipped, and get the KYB AGX's for them. I just don't want to have the ride height problem SamS is having. I've heard good things about the AGX's, and for about $265 shipped, I'm not aware of other shocks that perform as well for the money. Any input on this? Should I go ahead and plunk down the $40 for the ebay coilovers?

This is my ride height, it's not like it's super high, just not as low as I would like. It looks about the same as the earlier years.

Sam, after looking at your first picture I see a strange spacer between the ebay coilover top spring hat and the OEM upper spring hat. I have pointed to it in the attached picture. If you remove this spacer then you will drasticly lower your car. You will probably need to use some sort of NB style bumpstop (fatcat, etc).

BTW, nice Monster.

Good question, I don't know what that spacer is, I assumed it was a bumpstop. I'll definitely look into that in the future. Maybe while my car's up on jack stands for the clutch, I/C install over xmas break. Thanks, the Duc is a lot of fun, I see you had a S4 Senna, sweet.

I think you've got the top coilover perch sitting on the bumpstop. You need trim the flange off the bump stop and put it on the other side of the top perch - so it will be between the shock tube top and your upper perch. Then you can "lay frame".

Thanks for the advice though. Looks like I've got yet another project for over my break.

Keep us updated as to how you like them. I have a friend who can cut me a deal on the Ksports, so I think for now I'm gonna try the ebay ones, if I don't like them, I may end up trying the Ksports....

I think I've finally decided to plunk down the cash to purchase the ebay ones, but can't decide on whether to purchase this:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/90-98...QQcmdZViewItem

or

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/99-03...QQcmdZViewItem

I realize it says for 99+, but I can't believe there is any difference between the two, other than the looks (which I like the 99+ better). My only other concern is whether or not my AGX's can handle the spring rates of them. Any input on either of these questions?

The NA '90-'97 kit likely has slightly shorter springers to account for the lower mounting point of the springs on the NA upper mount vs. the stock NB upper mounts.

The AGXs have to be cranked up so hight to control the rebound of these springs that the compression damping will rattle your teeth out. Also, there's no good way to incorporate the stock bumpstops with these fleabay kits. I ran with those '99 kit coilovers on AGXs for probably 5k miles.

Well, I forgot to mention that I will also be installing a set of Fat Cat Motorsports bump stops at the same time as my AGX's. I would agree with your assumption that the 99+ springs may be slightly longer than NA ones, but I just have a feeling that because these kits are so mass produced and cheaply, the company uses the same springs for both kits. Obviously, I can't verify this, but my gut instinct is telling me that they wouldn't waste the time to make 2 separate spring lengths when it may be possible to cut costs and just use 1 length on the car.

If you can afford to, I'd go ahead and just convert to the NB upper mounts while you're at it. You're already saving a bundle on the springs and shocks, so what's another ~$85 for the NB uppers and required washers and bushings for all four corners? That way you can just ago ahead and get the '99+ fleabay coilover kit.
