any thoughts on how to make a splitter / air dam like this?

but on an NA of course:
Attachment 212337 I could cut a rectangle out for the radiator there too, and channel it, alleviating heat ailments. |
reference: Matt Andrews car. He pretty much did that. ummmm somewhere around here there's pictures. or maybe on cr.net. or both. it's neat.

Where can I get the little sticks it attaches too?
http://images.eurotuner.com/images/e...ide_skirts.jpg he did it with a racing beat bumper though http://www.flyinmiata.com/images/mis...s/IMG_0325.jpg |
We can get your turnbuckles at Elliot's in Plano..... time to dust off the air tools and build your bracing structure first. I have been eyeing Matt's build for a long time......as you can see by the references to my bumper mods.

I want to do a rectangular vent (where matt's says "mazdaspeed") like the c6r:

I don't know how I'm going to attach it to the bumper yet, and make it look cool. |
Easy enough.....build a lip w/ weld nuts and attach to top side of lip of bumper, bumper will be sandwiched in between this lip and your splitter. Mounting pretty much like a R-lip. Should be enough structure beyond to support this.

I need to borrow a TIG.

or I could just do the splitter, cut the r-pack lip in the middle (gasp) and use the begi splitter.

I am really liking the Begi splitter.....and I have no quams with cutting up more shit on my Miata.
I'll road tune the car with you every step of the way, and maybe you can piggy back on the dyno day with me in august when I tune mine. |
Fair enough...and yes the lip is "pretty". That's why I threw my Home Depot garbage away when I finally found a beat up donor w/ a TDR splitter included.

garden trim. /thread.

/\ Not anymore..... :)

I've used the ABS sheet and an aluminum carpet threshold strip to form the lower curve. No splitter since it was illegal, but the entire assembly weighed maybe 2 lbs., installed with industrial velcro and withstood as much as 120mph race after race. Adding the splitter would obviously require additional bracing and/or stronger/permanent fasteners.
