Anyone have pictures of Mazdaspeed rims on a NA?

Please post if you do.

bryantaylor 12-30-2007 09:53 PM

arent they 17s? think typical caprice/caddy/whatever on 26s' only smaller

Mach929 12-30-2007 10:04 PM

it's a shame i think they're good looking wheels but they're a little too big for an NB and way too big an NA, if they came in 15's or 16's....

paul 12-30-2007 10:07 PM

they are fucking heavy too.

I know a guy in Tulsa who has them. They're boat anchors. My sister sold hers the first week she had the car and bought light 15's.

Ummm i'm sorry but 12.5 its like impossible.... Just to show you : Some OZ Ultrleggera 17" weight 17.5 and SSR Type C RS weight 14.5 ... but they're 400$ and I doubt you have those :nono:

miataz 12-30-2007 11:54 PM

lmfao il post dont worry i think it will be close to 100 though i wouldnt doubt it

the original SSR Comps in15x7 weigh 9.5 so I think 12.5 for a 17 is feasible. FTR, they were like $350 each

and fuck that type c rs. ugly finishes. didn't SSR go bankrupt so the rims are made by a different company under the same name brand though?

Dark Wanderer 12-31-2007 12:08 AM

May be . I just took the weight info on the tirerack site, I haven't checked further. It's sad that the wheels fabricant doesn't always keep that info on their website....

paul 12-31-2007 12:12 AM

according to ACR the 17x7.5 are ~12.7lbs http://www.nsxprime.com/forums/archi...hp/t-3857.html

Dark Wanderer 12-31-2007 12:16 AM

Yeah I think that if we search on many website we could ends up with 3 or 4 diffenrent numbers..... Only a scale could tell the truth :)

jobambo 12-31-2007 01:36 AM

The Mazda Speed Racing harts are around 17 pounds each. They are heavy. regardless, i think they are beautiful rims.

I am not typically looking for a 17" rim. I do prefer a 15, but to me the 17" racing harts are just pure sex.

Nice ride BTW

Wow you really don't like my wheels huh?

They're not NEARLY that heavy and I believe they're forged aluminum. Sure they don't weigh 13 pounds each but I really don't care, I have several stock sets for autocross anyway. I got five of them at the hefty price of $72 a wheel, four of them were brand new in the boxes. Tires are Kuhmo something max performance all seasons and were $68 a tire from my dealership.

http://www.jugrnot.com/CRW_8875-1.jpg

Even with bone stock 140k mile suspension and stock ride height I think they look good.

timk 12-31-2007 03:46 AM

I had an MSM, and the wheels were bit I hated the most. I'm glad we are all different. :)

Just glad the guy that owns it now has a garage to keep her in. Had to sell the MSM so I could afford my piece of shit Festiva. :crx:

Right place, Right time... Just wish I could get a few more sets. They were actually an auction on ebay that I managed to win for something like 300$. Had to drive 30 minutes out of town to pick them up.

We put them on my friends blue car to see if they'd rub when lowered. They did. Not too bad really, just rubs on the plastic liner in the front.

I think they look better on his car than they do mine!

im not complaining, they look great. I think the fact that they *look* smaller than 17s makes it that much better.

Who the crap are you to tell me what i have or dont have? i DO have 17 inch SSRs and i CAN afford it asshole. and looks like i was pretty damm close to the right weight too.

shouldnt have wasted your first post on mt.net trying to prove me wrong only to get shot down horribly.

It was also ultra-$40.00 too. Whats so "queer" about it anyway? Not my car, I really don't care.

XxGoKoUxX 01-01-2008 04:11 AM

lol thanks spike, ever since i found out they stopped making them, i decided to keep it, since i wont get much for it anyways.... down south they wont give me anything past 400$ for wheels+tires and these wheels are MINT..... one has a scuff cuz someone tried to steal it, but i'm sure centercaps are easily replacable

Stealth97 01-01-2008 09:04 AM

I love the look of these, but hate the weight and the ride.

Newbsauce 01-01-2008 09:31 AM

Some 17x7 Enkei RS7's came with my car when I bought it. Not bad @ 17 lbs but not my thing. Swapped them for some 16x7 K1's later on.

I'm not serious, that was a joke. I traded the MSM for the MS6 cause having two miatas wasn't practical. Still know three or four people that have two and even three with no other vehicle to drive.. Making 2 trips to the grocery store in one day because you can't fit everything in your car sucks.

XxGoKoUxX 01-01-2008 02:19 PM

rofl.... MS6 is still a nice car besides the miata :)

as for the weight.... you should see how hard i try to brake sometimes spike... it's insane how much force i have to give that pedal and the wheels STILL dont lock because they're too big for the tiny brake discs.... now the 16x8's have a much better stopping force :)

elesjuan 01-01-2008 02:45 PM

I've still got my 1995 which pretty soon will be much faster than the MSM was.. It cost me $13,000 less than the MSM did too.

As for brakes.. Quality Drilled and slotted rotors with some PBR pads, I have NO problem braking at all. Was really worth the $$.

Or you can just go with NAPA blanks with a quality pad (hawk, axxis, etc) and have the same performance for a lot less $.

lol @ miataz's donk NA.

+1 on the Napa blanks or NOPIONLINE.com blanks and some good pads. Thats what I run on my turbo 94 and i have plenty of brake. Axxis ultimates and I even went to the smaller 1.6 brakes to save weight.

msydnor 01-01-2008 07:24 PM

I guess it's a good thing they make so many wheels in so many sizes. I think 15's look like ass, wouldn't matter if they were 2 pounds....For some reason my MSM seems to handle pretty well on stock wheels and brakes quit well.

XxGoKoUxX 01-02-2008 01:37 AM

do NA miata's come with drilled in the front and slotted in the rear? because that's what i have and i'm pretty sure it wasnt aftermarket

scfreshy 01-02-2008 01:42 AM

mine are blank...
no drill, no slot.
Im pretty sure that yours are aftermarket

-Andrew

XxGoKoUxX 01-02-2008 04:11 AM

ohh *shrug* it sure as hell don't brake very well for a performance disc set =/

XxGoKoUxX 01-03-2008 02:45 AM

u guys notice his neighbor has a red miata too????? i wish my neighbors had miatas.... so i can feel much better about mine's than theres.... the only 2 cars that come close to modified, well 3.... are a corolla with systems everywhere.... a riced out mustang(altezza's, wing, blue tint, fart-can exhaust.... nothing performance-wise).......... and a civic.... which i think he has a swap.... but i know i'm faster :D
