Hope you're feeling lucky if you are.

This wheel is on my friend's '02SE. No track time, no R-compounds. Street miles, autocross, and mountain driving.

Marc D 03-20-2008 05:39 AM

wow thats crap

Torkel 03-20-2008 08:04 AM

Ops!

levnubhin 03-20-2008 08:20 AM

Ouch, must be a bad wheel. I have a set and my wheels have seen several track days, several autocrosses, lots of daliy driving and a weekend in the gap. Has he checked to see if Konig will replace it?

big deal, he's got 7 more spokes

Ben 03-20-2008 08:22 AM

Is the rim bent? Did he hit a big pot hole or something? Basically, what were the events that led to failure? If the fucker just cracked for no good reason, I'm sure Konig will replace it.

Braineack 03-20-2008 08:49 AM

Konig wont replace it if driven on the track...but yeah, the wheels are known to be weaksauce.

paul 03-20-2008 09:05 AM

my circuit 8's were gorilla strong

samnavy 03-20-2008 09:08 AM

My Dad is running a set 15's he's had for 7years with no issues... but it's a known issue the spokes are weak.

chriscar 03-20-2008 10:29 AM

Old Circuit 8's had hollowed out spokes on the backside. I have a set and there are cracks on multiple spokes of all 4 wheels. I spoke to the importer and they said they'd warranty them, but they want all 4 wheels back. I just need to get off my ass and send them in.

I've never had any issue with my heliums. I've owned a set since they were new, those have done many autocrosses and street driving on punishing roads. I've owned another set that saw two seasons of autocross, a track day and some miles on the road. The person that owned them before me tracked his civic with them for a couple os seasons. No issues with 8 wheels.

Not to say that it can't happen...

no problems here, I've had my 15's on two Miatas and they've seen the South Dakota spring break up roads and a couple of autoX's

Me care break wheel.

You could easily roll your car if the wheel has a catastrophic failure while autocrossing, on the track or on the street.
