Yep that’s it. Routed it wrong and it wasn’t attached to what I thought.

I dont know the electrical word for it; isolator?
back of the head, near the cams. Intake side methinks

Yep, it bolts to the back of the head inline with the exhaust cam, I believe the little black box is a capacitor connected to the ignition, with the other being a ground terminal.
