Default autocross wheel size

Do you guys have any suggestions for the best wheel size (height/width/offset)? I would like to have a "deep dish" look. Anybody running a big offset without having any rubbing issues?

I've got Rota RB 13X8 +4 offset. Fit is fine, even with 1.8 brakes and no modifications to the car. Tires stick out a fair bit

I've got 13x7 panasports.... I believe the offset is 0 IIRC, but I'm not 100% certain.

There are some pics in the vbgarage, with my car and 13's.

Just remember depending on the class you are running in, some events don't let you run a stock class with 13's going out past the fenders. You might want to grab the rule book for the events you are going to run.

15" are good for a turbo car.... 13" limit your speed too much and heat up real quick. but they are better for stock cars.

I used my connection to get some free DOT tires (just have to slap some decals on my car) for autocross and i wanted to get the best grip possible. I'll be running in sts2, i think they allow up to 225mm wide tires.

Yeah I was running 13x8 Diamonds (5" backspaced) when I ran CSP, with 235-45-13 Hoosiers A3S04s. They were great and the shorter "gearing" was fantastic. I think I'd still run them turbo if I were to autocross again any time soon, the shorter gearing will help offset turbo lag and I wouldn't think you'd have to worry too much about limiting speed in autocross.. not a knock on you Al just IMHO.

13 wheels won't do you any good in STS. There are no good street tires in 13" or 14".

This IS the winning recipe.

A 225/50/13 is nearly the stock size. (about 4% smaller) So over heating and limiting speed aren't much of a factor. The disadvantage to the 13" is that even with the same width of tire the contact patch will always have less surface area.

13" was the winning setup, until the 275 A6 came out. Sounds like that will be the hot ticket for CSP. 15" or 16" is where it is at in SM2, XP and beyond ... but you have to be willing to do some surgery to the car

When I finish off my v710's, I'll be switching to Hoosiers since they seem to know what sizes people actually want. Unlike kumho who makes a 235 in an old tire, but not in the new fast one.

Ultimately lot size will also play a big roll in tire size/choice.

I think budget racer and I posted at the same time, I didn't see he was going to run ST2.. I'd go with something around 205-50-15
