Axis racer X

My real question here is who is running a neg offset on here?
I ordered my flares and i was figuring roll the rear a half inch or so and run the flares over them.

Anyone get into this at all ?

The wheels are 15x8 -26 in the rear with a 6"lip

Zabac 05-02-2008 05:15 PM

wow, mad tyte JDMness, that will be so sw33t, I hope you have a lifetime supply of wheel bearings...

johndoe 05-02-2008 05:24 PM

they also look like dogshit imo

Tougelabs 05-02-2008 05:29 PM

You think an extra 3/4 of an inch will make that much diff. compared to a 0 offset on wheel bearings ?
Also i dont care really what you guys think about them I enjoy old school jdm and this is my daily driver so flame away...I was just trying to see if anyone was running an neg. offset on here.

sergei 05-02-2008 05:30 PM

You don't like that, this is why I deleted my post!

johndoe 05-02-2008 05:40 PM

I like your car...those flares will look great once painted.

he has two alerts, so both :giggle:

bryantaylor 05-02-2008 09:45 PM

low offset makes the miata look like a roller skate. i think you would like it better on clubroadster or roadsterdrift than here.

Somebody asked if someone has some low offset wheels on their miata. I do and I showed it to him. What is the problem with that?

I never had any warning on any other website.
You want to know why I got warned, so I will tell you.

The first time I only had 6 posts and I wanted to buy some injectors from a member in the Sale section. So I decided to build some "test posts" until I was 10 posts. That way I could contact the seller (you cannot below 10)
***first warning

The second time, somebody wrote something funny and I replied with a ":)"
***second warning
CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT?!?

I think for having said that, I will have a third warning and be banned:werd:

I don't know what is wrong with the moderators on this site but there is a problem.

I have a serious miata, running 300 whp, 12.5 sec on the 1/4 mile, if it's not enough for you, fine.

As I was suggest, I will return to other website where I can exchange and discuss about power mods with more "open mind" people.

God bless

Doppelgänger 05-03-2008 01:24 AM

I still don't get the point of chopping fenders and flaring a car only to run 195's or even those 'monster' 225's. Shit, for all that work, bet your ass i'd be rolling on 275/35-15. Otherwise, it's a poseur move IMHO. Hell, I run 235's (slicks..which would be more like a 245 in street tires) without fancy low offset or flares.:dunno:

Tougelabs 05-03-2008 03:39 AM

I missed the picture...post it again man, Doppel to be honest i want to do it cause i enjoy that style and i never really see any miatas with crazy setups its my daily driver. My rhd s14 is my project car By the way your miata looks awesome i love nbs.

'Sall good. I'm the 'funtion over form' guy. I'm not saying that flares and low offset wheels are bad, im just windering why people who do it don't utilize all that space and put some meats on the wide rims. With all that space, why not try running a 245-40/15 or something? It's just a matter of buying a wider tire...that's all.

ThePass 05-03-2008 01:45 PM

I couldn't help but flame on that thread on CR... I don't usually do stuff like that but that shit is way too overboard.

Tougelabs 05-03-2008 01:52 PM

Thanks for that link and i do plan on running a nice size tire i work down in the city so ill blast these rims left and right. 6" lip is going to look pretty crazy i think

sergei 05-03-2008 05:31 PM

I was right!!! I've been warn for that post:bowrofl::giggle::jerkit: Doesn't make sense at all...I've been a member since 2005 and now I've been alerted 3 times in a row for no reason at all...I think you better ban me right away!!! Adios

What's the point? If folks are blowing up the 7" diff on RA1s what good do you suspect 11" slicks will do?

Besides, even with twice the power he is claiming (300whp) the miata doesn't need wrinkle walls wider than 8-9" the extra 2" is to make up for his horrendously under sized penis.

*edit* misspelled wrinkle.

MX_Eva 05-05-2008 01:25 AM

Well originally I was going to tell doppleganger he's an idiot because as much as he wants to run Sticky 275's all day long and "oh so much more rubber". axles will not put up with that. too thin, will snap. gonna happen.

I guess now I have to say that sergei is gonna fall into that trap. Start examining what you are gonna do about rear-end power delivery now.

Zabac 05-05-2008 10:13 AM

uh...last I checked, our axles were not really a point of failure even with 275's, the diff. still is though...
Here is what I don't get, why is everyone so worried about breaking shit on their cars, if you never break anything, you are not driving it to its fullest potential. You brake something, you replace it with a better part, what's the big deal here?
You want to stay safe, do not go over 200whp, end of discussion.

ThePass 05-06-2008 01:41 PM

The drag slicks look pretty bad ass on the car I won't lie. But A.) the miata is not a drag car and B.) even if you had the cohones to build a proper drag miata (which you aren't doing with the rest of the car - you just slapped drag slicks on there even though you're just going to snap your axles and destroy the rear end) it's going to look gay for 99% of it's life when you don't have those slicks on it.

Doppelgänger 05-06-2008 04:31 PM

:jerkit:

If i felt like running 275's, i would...and i wouldn't be worried about breaking a diff. or axles. Why? Because i'm not going to be shocking the driveline from trying to drag race. No driveline shock when on a road course.

But im not saying to go to the extreme. But something like a 245 to fill "all that space" would look far less gay then the 195's/205's that 95%of people running SM's/flares.

warhead78 05-08-2008 03:46 AM

Attributing a sexuality to an inanimate piece of automotive equipment, albeit hardly functional, seems pretty gay to me. I humbly suggest more appropriate adjectives such as "retarded" or "ghetto", just to be politically correct.

speedf50 05-08-2008 04:16 AM

I can't tell if you're serious. I hope not.

Just don't be a fag.

And Doppelgänger, totally agreed, like most of the other people on here. Fender flares are for wider tires, not for ones that are sliding around on the rim all gay-dee-m. It makes me sad that there are probably more widebody'd or flared miatas on 195's than there are running 245+.

warhead78 05-08-2008 04:29 AM

Dude, I referred to "retarded" and "ghetto" as politically correct, is the sarcasm that subtle? I'll be a bit more of an asshole in the future, you know, just to protect my masculinity and all.

speedf50 05-08-2008 04:54 AM

Fuck it, I'm tired and somehow didn't notice that lol.

All I read was "politically correct" and red lights and thoughts of m.net defending their many gay members went up.

Zabac 05-08-2008 10:40 AM
