Best Radiator for the Money?

Been looking for a new radiator for a little while now and not sure what to go with. Was going to do a Godspeed but paid for it, etc. and they emailed me say it was out of stock for weeks so moving on. Seems like the other stuff on ebay is junk; maybe Haste but at that price you might as well pay and extra $50 and get a Koyo and have no worries or questions.

Not sure if I'm missing out on any others if so let me know if not where the best place to purchase a koyo?

GodSpeed. Do a search.

godspeed....

i got a koyo off a ebay seller which had the "best offer" option and offered 20 under what he was asking, and he took it

For those of you running a koyo what size are you running? Correct me if i'm wrong but there's a two (thickness around 37-39mm) and three row (thickness around 50-55mm). I have know doubts with a koyo but is it any better or worse than the godspeed?

I'm running the Koyo 37mm and it just barely fits.I pretty sure you will need to trim alot of things to make the 55mm fit.

i say godspeed, no one has had problems, and its what half the price of the koyo?

Read the OP much?

Godspeed has to be about 55mm, and it fits with an RB 15/16" front bar with a little bit to spare. That's with stock fans, the stand-offs were modified to bring the fans closer to the rad. We'll see this weekend if the RB hollow bar fits or not.

One person had a leak right out of the box.

miataz 02-12-2008 11:31 PM

I think as a forum we have bought atleast 50 of these radiators and we've only heard about one failure. That failure was resolved by free replacement of the radiator.

jayc72 02-13-2008 12:31 AM

How many of the 50 are yet to be installed on a running car? I've test fit mine but have no idea if it is going to leak. Having said that, at the price it is well worth the MINOR risk.

I was just busting the boys balls.

Ive got a 55mm in mine, fitment is perfect, stock fans/fan was/would be the only thing needed to be trimmed. And thats if you have a large FSB. I can take pictures if needed.

I asked the guy selling the GS radiators if they had seen anymore failures besides the one and he said they hadn't and reminded me that there is a 1 year warranty. I know that he could be lying but the last guy that had trouble with his got a new one out of the deal once he proved it had a leak by a radiator shop.
Either way, buy two at the same time. For the price you can afford to get one, install it, if it's broke replace it with the other one and get GS to send you a new one. Then sell the extra GS locally.

Savington 02-13-2008 02:25 AM

It's a shame nobody has the CSF 2" in stock anymore. I love mine, bolted right up, even the fan mounts were pretty much spot on.

danscreations 02-13-2008 11:09 AM

I can wait 2 weeks for the radiator...it's a must that I get one but I've worked in the industry and they may be right an telling the truth but a good 80-90% of them will lie to keep the sale, money, etc. So realisticly i could be 3, 4, 5, etc. weeks. Which holding my hard earned money for that time. Think was pissed me off the worst was they have an ebay auction for them and they DON'T HAVE THEM! Not how ebay works.

Anyways the koyo's on ebay or offsite are around $345 shipped and the Godspeed was $230 shipped difference of $115 which isn't close to double the price. The Godspeed is two row as well correct? If so and money wasn't the issue as which would you get? Still the Godspeed or Koyo (37mm)
