Better/alternator.
All,
I have a 1990 I've switched the alternator out twice.
problem: I disconnect the positive off the battery while car is running and the car dies.
I don't believe the alternator is charging the battery.
I get a voltage reading at the terminal on the alternator. I had a 96 alternator on think switching to a 90 alternator would fix the issue but it did not.
I get a voltage reading on the one of the plug wires the connect to the alternator.
question is is this common and I need to click on soon the ms3 pro. I can't find anything on this topic. I do believe the the alternator is internal controlled and not by the ECU.
is there something simple I am missing or is this a bigger issues.
I did check resistance touching the alternator casing and it appears good. All grounds are good.
any help is appreciated.
thank you.
