Default bolt in harness bar being a bitch

So I bought a bolt in harness bar for my hard dog sport bar, and it doesn't seem to line up with the seat belt tower bolts. The bar itself wasn't the easiest thing to get to line up when I first installed it, but now the roll bar lines up with the holes ok, but the new harness bar is a good ways off.

I am thinking just dremel out a chunk from the bolt in harness bar so it lines up and then leave it, but I am a little bit worried about cutting into the bar that will soon be holding me in place if there were to be some kind of accident. Does anyone see anything wrong with doing this little cut? Could it allow the bar to move from left to right, or would the other side being aligned correctly not cut make this fine to do?

Here's a picture to show the problem.

I say slot the hole or drill it larger.

Make the hole a slot instead of a hole. AKA dremel the hole bigger. It has two mounting holes doesn't it?
