Default Bonnet Louvers - What are these?

HI Guys

A friend bought a car with these on and have wondered where and what they came from ever since. Now i notice this picture on the FM email today.

Anyone know what they are and where they come from?

The singular ones are probably a little too modern looking for the Classic Japanese class I run in and these are likely okay....and a lot larger than the FM ones i currently run....

I would question the effectiveness of vents mounted in that location.

Location in that photo not the best but another 10 cms or so forward isn't the worst either.

Still leaves the question, anyone know what they are......if they can get all they way down here to New Zealand they must a be a fairly main stream part......

Hard to tell for sure from the pic, but are those intake vents, or exhaust vents? And if the former, why?

Nice way to destroy a perfectly good hood.

they are 180usd, shipping within the US only it says.

For that price, just get the singulair ones. They will actually work. I've seen them in person, and they actually seem to fit stylistically. Maybe you can contact them, and have them laser cut more straight edged vanes instead of their curved ones. That would definitely fit your era race car.

They are available from other vendors. Just search for "Jeep Hood Vents"
