BP4W Head Swap issues
Howdy everyone,
Needs some expert advice. I did a BP4W head swap with a brand new head on my 94 engine. I believe my problem is my headgasket is flipped upside down thus not getting oil to my intake cam (After doing some research). I had great oil pressure until it shut off and skipped timing due to no oil to that cam. It didnt run terribly long but it is definitely harder to rotate that cam compared to the exhaust cam. What do you all think I should do after I go in a flip the head gasket? Since its a brand-new head Im hoping I can atleast try and salvage it. The cam doesn't have any scoring. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks (P.S. the headgasket is a MLS Cometic and I put ARP head studs in it so I don't need to get a new HG from what I know)

Problem is you’re clamping it different next time. You’ll most likely damage the layers removing it anyways. Not worth the risk, get a new head gasket. Take all the buckets out and put the cam back in, lubed. If it doesn’t spin by hand easily, the head needs machining.
I did this years ago, it locked up idling and jumped time. I pulled the cam, plugged the oil holes that feed the journals, and carefully polished the high spots out of the journals. I also polished the cam itself in those areas. Cleaned everything really well and oiled it and reassembled. Ran it for years after that.
